Comments on: NY Rep Blasts Jackson As "Pervert"
Congressman Peter King Says Society Is "Glorifying" a "Low-Life"
- MJ was an entertainer, nothing more. He was a drug addict. Convicted or not he was accused of molesting children. Were he any other human being and not an entertainer, his drug addiction alone would have earned him the term "lowlife". His fame should not cloud that issue. I think MJ has had more than enough time in the headlines for his life and his death and people in general are just getting tired of hearing about it. The Congressman said what most people are thinking and saying, the only difference being his got more publicity.

- "...Congressman said what most people are thinking..."
That's a rationale for alot of irresponsible hate speech... but it makes alot of money for that racist-apologist limbaugh...
- debinok1 - If you accuse MJ as a drug addict - what do you have to say about Elvis? (Also a drug addict, according to your statement). How quickly all you morons seem to forget!
- I agree, even Elvis was a drug addict. For some insane reason when it is a famous person who is abusing drugs, it is all A-OK, but if it is a regular person, it is jail time. If it is wrong for 1 it is wrong for all. You will get no arguement from me about Elvis, Anna Nichole, MJ or any other person who uses their fame to get away with something we would do jail time for.

- You can't accuse Michael Jackson because they didn't find anything on his computer or in his home.

- I saw an interview with Diane Sawyer. She asked him THE question. "Why would you pay if you're innocent?" MJ gave a very believable response. " My lawyers told me that they could not guarantee that I would not receive a guilty verdict if I let it go to trial...why would I risk going to prison since I'm innocent?" Whether you believe him or not, that makes sense.

- I thought he was just a child molester....
Way too much news coverage for this person.

IT is starting to look that way. It's a shame that it is so hard to find out what is going on in the world. They report the news as if it begins & ends in Hollywood.

- Michael Jackson was NOT a pervert. Everybody know that he was profoundly influenced by reading Plato's Symposium during his undergraduate years at Vassar. He was also profoundly influenced by the writings of Michel Foucalt and he was trying to test Foucalt's provocative ideas on sexuality and culture. Michael was a real scholar. Very few people know that. His undergraduate thesis while at Princeton was on the paralles between the anti-colonial movement and the struggles for liberation of left handed, eunuchs in Bogota, Columbia.

- Congressman Peter King, a mean-spirited Republican, is out of touch with society. Yes, Micheal Jackson made some bad mistakes, but his contribution to pop culture is enormous.
Hope Rep. King loses his election. New York needs Democrat with an open mind. - Reply to this comment
- Al Sharpton and King are both greedy self absorbed bigots. While I agree it is ridiculous to honor Jackson like he was a demi god, he more than deserves the love and adoration his fans gave him and was a spectacular performer. Its a shame people like those two learned nothing from the tolerance Jackson tried so hard to teach others!
