It's always suspect when any politician wants to stop news coverage of anything, good or bad. I also feel the coverage of MJ is excessive, but it is clearly in response to demand from the public, and political correctness has nothing to do with it. Who dreamed up the story that MJ had ANY political associations, leanings, or interests?

Anna Nicole's somewhat trashy career, legal issues, and subsequent drug-suspicious early death was a news circus too. But at least most elected officials had enough sense not to spout judgement.

MJ always got excessive publicity, during his trial and ever since. If King feels so strongly about Jackson being a pervert, despite an acquittal, why didn't he make his public pronouncement while Jackson was still alive, or before he himself decided to run for Senator?

Can't people just let the dead rest in peace? I mean, he is dead, and yeah, he did some bad stuff, but some really good and influencing stuff that will still be talked about and impact us many years from now. Just leave him be.

People need to stop critizing michael for his personal life, we are honoring his professional career. Basically he was a son, brother and a father. For all these things he needs to be honored. We should all be so lucky to have a friend named Michael Jackson. We dont know every little detail about his life so who are we to judge when we dont know it all. Does the man really know anything about the life of Michael Jackson or just the life the media portrayed of him? Does he know about the terminally ill children he helped medically and mentally? does he know about the children he provided college educations for ? Did he not see how fraud from a greedy woman pulled Michael Jackson down so far that he could not even live in his own Home? Or that he had lived and provided for children in that home for over 15 years? He was a GOOD PERSON who was exploited by many and if they had only asked him he would have helped them regardless of their intent. We are here on earth a short time and in his time he did so much from a good heart to try to make this world a better place.

Peter King is a self serving pol looking for publicity by playing into the resentment and racism that many people still feel towards a black man that gets white girls to swoon.

There are more negatives to his life than positives! As an entertainer he was suberb but as a human being he left alot to be desired! He's got it backwards. Jackson may have been a good dancer, and did some singing. Pervert? Probably, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. Any sexual act that doesn't lead to progeny is technically "perversion" -- including the use of contraceptives. Jackson was never convicted of anything, though. That he had massive personal issues, though, cannot be denied.
