I applaud Miss Prejean for stating her beliefs. Why is it gay and lesbians "have the right" to state their beliefs, but when a Bible believing young woman states her opinion, she is supposed to apologize for her beliefs? I believe Christians are being persecuted in America for standing up for the principles upon which we were once founded.

I am very proud of this young lady. She gave a great answer because she sincerely believed it. In time, she will make a great wife and a wonderful mother.

Hilton was way out of line for asking such a stupid question. BTW, aside from being a gossip blogger, what qualifications did he have to judge a Miss USA contest? Who selected him?

She is RIGHT! Marriage should only be between a man and a woman! So should sex and intercourse too! Also she didn't say one word that she should apologize for! First of all beauty pageant judges shouldn't be allowed to ask that kind of question because no matter what answer she gave she would make someone mad at her! But she was asked to give her opinion on the subject and she gave it. If she had said something that she didn't really believe, she would have been dishonest. She stood up for her Christian beliefs and she didn't say anything that she should be ashamed of. She also didn't say even one hateful word about gays. She simply stated her opinion and her beliefs as she was asked to do and she lost the pageant because of them! If she had given a different answer she probably would have won but at what cost? Winning a beauty pageant is not worth lowering your principles for and it's not worth the cost of your soul. Perez Hilton should have been fired as a judge and he should never be allowed to judge a beauty pageant again!

Why should a question like that be asked ??? Liberals are not content, unless EVERY ASPECT of our lives become agenda filled and they have to make sure that there is not one word of dissent. Sounds like Stalin. And they talk about Mc Carthiasm ??

They asked her a question and she gave her honest opinion..what is the big deal. Do they want her to lie? I don't agree with her but that is her opinon. Get over it!

A couple of points here:

First, in spite of whether or not you agree with her opinion about who should or shouldn't be allowed to marry, the point is, she HAS the right to have it, AND EXPRESS it!

Second, WHY was this question even allowed to be asked at a beauty contest? I mean---it's HIGHLY controversial at the least! Frankly, it seemed out of place! It's the type of question that should be asked at a Political Forum, NOT a beauty contest!

Third, I believe answering it honestly cost her the contest! She was punished for honestly expressing her opinion on the subject! This is WRONG! But, it was terrific to see someone give an honest answer instead of an intuitive, "politically-correct" one!

Fourth, I'd like to see her move up to Alaska and run against Sarah Palin and replace her!
She'd WIN it, too!
