I have watched Guiding Light for over 41 years. They are a part of my every day life, and I am so sick about this, that if CBS takes this off the air, I will simply block CBS from my television for good. Talk about bad ratings, maybe the ratings would be better if CBS would keep BASKETBALL off of the tv, instead of Guiding Light. I, for one, never will watch basketball during the time that I watched "the light". This is the most horrible news that could possibly be. I will block CBS for good! How's that for ratings???

So just how high is a stack of DVDs holding 72 years of reruns?

My whole family, from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Las Vegas watches this show. My Mother listened to it on the radio before TV. We are very sad for it to end. Hopefully it will continue on cable or internet so we can still enjoy it. A sad day, indeed.

I am very saddened by this. I wish another network...maybe NBC would pick Guiding Light up. It has been around for so many years...and to me, there is nothing boring about it...nothing different from the other soaps. Sure I'd like the Bauers back....I've been so happy that they brought Phillip back...and now canceling?!! Doesn't make sense to me!

I had a feeling that GUIDING LIGHT was going to be scrapped when became more of a reality show in essence.

It was a good show when it was about the Bauers, the Shaynes, and the Spauldings. It became boring and bland when they kept introducing new characters with no history to the show and let go of the real talent they had. Sad to see it go, but it was inevitable. I will miss the veterans.

This ought to be a lesson that "updating" classic television usually has the opposite effect of attracting a larger audience. The program's regular viewers become turned off and not enough new viewers come along to replace them.

It's a sad world when our favorite soap stars are losing there jobs due to this sinking economy. I'm scared to see what happens next........

An amazingly BORING show which, like General Hospital, Ryan's Hope and all the rest belong back in the 60's
