I am very upset about guiding light leaving television for good... My grandmother/mom ect have watched it for many yrs... Myself also for 15yrs.. Don't blame the economy on the reason you are taking it away blame the fact that you changed the viewing for morning when every1 is working... I watch guiding light @ 3pmEST where it should have stayed from day 1.... I guess us faithful guiding light watchers don't get a say so?? Once September 18th comes and I say good buy 2 guiding light i will no longer watch CBS... I agree w/ Cindgod the story lines for Bold and the Beautiful and Young and the Restless are worthless its the same drama everyday that never comes 2 a point... Reva and Jeffery finally got a baby and i would like 2 c beyond September 18th what will happen..... DEPRESSING!!!!

If you are taking Guiding Light off due to ratings than the writers of the show are to blame. The show is much better than the shows that come on before Guiding Light. I would like for you to take a pole and let the viewers decide what happens to the show. If the show is taking off in Sept. I will not watch any of your other soaps rather I wil turn to ABC. I think you are jumping to quick, If you don't beleive me just watch what happens in Sept. when ratings even drop more. One thing you can't control is a true soap fan and Guiding Light fans are true to the end.

I just recently lost my mom who I always watched this show with. It is like losing a large part of your family. I grew up watching GL. I was very heart broken when I heard the news that CBS was canceling. Why not take The Bold and the Beautiful off. It is just a broken record the same story lines over and over. GL has great potential with story lines. Please CBS rethink your decision. Cut it down to 30 minutes or put it on primetime one night a week. Something... 72 years is a long time to just give up.

Of all the shows to cancel! What about the fact that the TV station in Orlando put the show on at 9am! Unless you are a stay at home Mom or are retired, who watches soaps that early in the day. I have been a fan of guiding light since I was ten and listened on the radio and have watched it on TV since it started. I taped it when I was working. Why can't stations take off stupid shows like Dr Phil, Bold and the Beautiful and endless hours of news shows that repeat the same news over and over!!!!!

I will also be boycotting ALL CBS programming. I cannot believe they have done this. I have watched this show for 30 years and it is better than any other soap on CBS. I really like their new style and writing is getting so much better. CBS has always treated Guiding Light like the step-child. And the cancellation proves it. I will continue to watch GL but will no longer watch after Sept. 18.

How could they do this. And how can we stop it from happening? I grew up with this show and so have a lot of people. It's the one thing that has help me through some bad times, by watching I was able to forget my problems for an hour and see others dealing with theirs. Even my teenage grandsons have started watching it. I tape this show everyday and come home from work to sit and unwind by watching the tape for the hour before dealing with everything at home. My husband laughed when we got married that I had to tape everyday, but he is now watching it with me as well. We need to keep this show on the air and take some of the junk they are trying to push down us off instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have watched the show for a VERY VERY LONG TIME . Take off B&B if you want to take off one.But if yall want to keep everybody watching CBS yall need to keep Guiding Light on the air.We watch it every day if we are not home in time for it then we tape it so we don't miss it.Heck at work we take our lunch at 4 o'clock so we can watch it.So to be nice I'll say it like this "YALL WOULD BE THE BIGGEST FOOLS ON THIS PLANET TO STOP WITH GUIDING LIGHT" So I hope and pray yall keep it going after Sept.

I have been watching Guiding Light since 1957 with my mother and I am very sickened at the thought of this show going off the air. Game shows would be a waste of time and money and I feel like they could atleast cut down the time in order to save the show, this move will really lower the rating on CBS. This will definately something that another channel would jump at. Also COME ON As the World turns is not in the least exciting and does not keep my attention. Not to mention there are many opportunities for storylines now that Phillip is back and Mallet and Marina's Baby, Frank Wedding, and FOR GOD SAKES REVA'S BABY. Someone needs to think about getting a new writer in order to keep the stories alive. They have manged for 72 years, why stop now????? I feel that in these tough economic times TV is all that some people have and now you are taking that away too. My mother is almost 80 years old and this is what she lives for and now it is being taken away. CBS needs to get its act together, before some other channel gets the ratings. I guess I will have to switch shows because I cannot rely on CBS to stay true to its viewers.

I am in total shock that CBS would take such a great show off that has brought alot of good memories that I had when I was younger watching the show with my Mom in the evenings. My Mom passed away in 1996 and I stop every eveniing just to watch this show because it brought back those vivid memories that I had. This is so so sad that they are taking it off the air.
