Comments on: Versatile Actor James Whitmore Dies
Tony And Emmy Award Winner, Best Known For His Work In The Theater, Was 87
- I have always dreaded to see any actor/actress run for public office because they are trained to strictly follow the script that someone else wrote and have nothing going for them except their celebrity status (read Ronald Reagan), but James Whitmore could have been the one exception.
Great actor, and a very good person.

- A wonderful actor in many performances.
James Whitmore was one of the stars of that great film "The The Shawshank Redemption."

- A truly class act.
Watch him in his movie performance involving the subject of Chief Seattle: ''I will fight no more forever''. Sure, the movie is hokie.
But, Whitmore''s involvement wasn''t, it was pure Whitmore. - Reply to this comment
