A Massachusetts high school is facing a pregnancy boom with 17 girls entering summer vacation expecting babies in what some have called a pregnancy pact.

Officials at Gloucester High School in Gloucester, Mass., are investigating whether half of the teens made a pact to get pregnant during the school year, Time.com reported.

Officials said that beginning last fall a large group of girls started asking the school clinic for pregnancy tests, the site said.

"Some girls seemed more upset when they weren''t pregnant than when they were," principal Joseph Sullivan told Time.com.

The pregnancy rate at the 1,200-student school is four times higher than the previous year, and officials were shocked to learn that men in their 20s had fathered some of the babies, Time.com said.

"We found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless guy," Sullivan told Time.com.

I still don''t get it.

I do not approve of her being so proud of this and waving it around like it is a wonderful event, however; for those of you screaming rape, sad to say, it truly depends on the state as to what the age of consent is. I know in WI where I am from he could be charged, but there are states where 16 is old enough. I don''t know what it is in MS.

That''s the United States for you.

Why will Medicare pay for Viagra for men, but not birth control for women?

An 80 year old, dying of cancer will be thrown in jail for smoking a joint, but a teenager can go have an abortion without having to tell her parents.

Just call me stupid,...........but I don''t get it.

Wasn''t there a case when a boy 19 year old had oral *** with a 17 year girl and he was sent to jail for 10 years?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Just anaother teenager having a kid before she/he is ready for the responsibility. I''m sure that there are some 17 year old''s out there who MIGHT be good parenting material, but I haven''t run into them. At 17, she should probably be in school, having fun and preparing for college.

That the MSM sees fit to print this greul speaks volumes to me. Is there nothing important going on in the country/world today!?!?!?!
