Comments on: Aw Nuts: CBS Pulls Plug On Jericho
Final Episode Airs Tuesday, Promises To Tie Up Storyline
- The determining factor isn''t whether or not a loyal fanbase watches the show, it is who amongst the chosen few contributing to the ratings watches the show. Has anyone ever met a Nielsen family?

- I was a tremendous fan of season one. But season two''s writers got a little wild. The violence escalated and the plot twisted, perhaps in a bid to get another season by attracting another sort of viewer. Or perhaps because the writers had exhausted their talent. But season one was a good deviation from the "reality" (better term-"crazy") shows and the graphic violence & spiritistic shows the networks are pursuing to gain more viewers. In all, I will miss the show, especially the "Hawk" character, which shone above the rest.

- I''m a new fan. I saw an episode from season one a few months ago, found the Jericho Season One DVD''s at the video store and got caught up just in time to watch season two as it aired on TV. I really like the show and I''m disappointed by this news. There are so few good shows these days. Why do they always cancel the ones I love?

- I don''t disagree with people''s disappointment over this cancellation -- but keep in mind that the CBS Television Network is no longer presided over by the likes of William S. Paley and Dr. Frank Stanton, people who would balance their drives for top ratings alongside service to the public and programming that brought prestige and excellence to the Network.
Today, broadcast networks are like any other business that has as its #1 priority the maximizing of profits. - Reply to this comment
- This upsets me. It''s a quality show, poorly promoted by the network. Quit treating the public to the usual, dumb reality shows! Everytime you get a quality product, you dump it! How about dumping some of your execs for poor execution? They make excuses and top execs and shareholders buy it ... fire some people!

- Well, as everyone who enjoyed Jericho said above, CBS can''t understand why no one watches network TV. I haven''t, nor will I ever watch the reality GARBAGE shows. Maybe we need a 4th CSI show??? Hopefully someone Smart will pick-up where they dropped the ball. I no longer have any reason to reason to watch CBS!!

- GOOD! This series was a piece of CRAAAAP!
It was only trotted out after the writers went on strike and CBS was left with nothing good except what they had spare episodes of. I guess nobody watched it.

- CBS execs should be FIRED for failing to properly promote the show. The time slot was on against AMERICAN IDOL. Execs should have redirected the show to a FRIDAY/SATURDAY time slot. Jericho would have performed quite well!
I will miss the show, the cast & the fascinating story line. No wonder America is being dumbed down. I suppose Jericho needed more BLOOD or BIKINIS to SURVIVE this AMAZING ratings RACE. Why not call it CSI:JERICHO & give it another season? Looks like this viewer will be renting more movies from Blockbuster now that the intelligent shows are vanishing from the airwaves. - Reply to this comment
- I am so tired of the networks cancelling enjoyable programming that allows its viewers to use their brains. They allow the mind-numbing garbage (read "reality" shows) the go on, and on, and on. I can''t wait for the networks to get their act together. Network television is the only television I have access to, and the programs are getting fewer and fewer. Instead of worrying who will win ''Big Brother'' and other shows of that ilk, perhaps they should be worrying about those of us who would rather watch Video Tapes & DVDs of the good shows from years past that have also ended. See how they like that!

- I am so tired of the networks getting rid of decent programming in order to produce mind-numbing garbage that doesn''t care if their viewers have brains. The only television I receive is network, and they are constantly pulling the good stuff in favor of the trash. Get your act together!

- I think that is a shame to end such a great show ...Of all the other trashess shows out there that stays on.. I really loved that show and had it taped when i was working.. I cant believe it is not coming back on... Is it because it could be a reality and people just dont want to believe... It does make you stop and Think

- I did like this show but what really upsets me is that there are so many reality and so called game shows and they are soooooo boring. CBS had a great show called "Moonlight" that I really loved but it just disappeared. I guess these reality shows cost less to produce so we might as well get used to them. I now watch a lot of stuff on PBS and they have some good shows. How I miss the good old days of The Carol Burnett Show, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Lucy and The Honeymooners..that was real entertainment!

- I tried to watch it the first season. I did like the acting but the story just didn''t resonate with me. I hate to see it go for the people that liked it. I know how that feels.

- I watched one complete show and parts of two others, but can''t say I cared for it much. The storylines didn''t interest me much. The settings and acting was okay, though.
I''m sorry for the fans who really liked it though!
Compared to another reality-based show, it''s head-and-shoulders above that! - Reply to this comment
- Idiots. That leaves Lost as the only thing worth watching on network TV. Jericho was a great show, and if CBS couldn''t get the ratings, it can only be considered a complete failure of their marketing department, just like how Fox screwed the pooch with Firefly. Perhaps they''d get the message if fans sent in 50,000 lbs of dog *** this time?
