After reading some of these comments, I am worried about our sympathy level as human beings. If you have never had cancer touch your life, you do not know the stress of it. Cancer patients, from mild skin cancer to terminal cancer, positive thinking is the most important thing. You need to go back to the old rule ''if you can''t say anything nice, don''t say anything at all''. Patrick needs to keep a positive attitude towards his illness in order for the treatment to work at its best.

I have grown up with Patrick. I was only a child when I saw Dirty Dancing and have been a fan ever since. My prayers go out for the entire family of Patrick. Keep your hopes high and always be positive no matter what. Attitude is most of the recovery, I believe. Never give up and always live each day like it was your last, even if it is for the next 50 years.

Having lost 6 siblings to cancer, I can truly say that it''s a horrible, horrible way to go, and I would not wish that upon anyone. My prayers go out to Mr. Swayze and his family. Upon reading some of these comments, I think it''s terrible the way some people think. No, Patrick isn''t any better than any of us, but he''s still a human being, and that counts for something in my book. Yes, we are all going to die sometime, but goodness people, please have a little bit of empathy for your fellow man. Show some kind of humanity, will you. Praying for you Mr. Swayze.

Patrick isn''t nothing special. Just a person that was fortunate enough to get overpaid in a few movies. He was going to die eventually so what''s the big whoopie. Untold thousands die of cancer everyday. He''ll be able to rest in comfort and get excellent care, not like the third world where they give you 30 placebos and send you on your way to die in a ditch. We don''t share in his fortunes or his pain so stop pretending like you knew him or care. If you want to care for strangers go find a bum to move in with you.

bullwinkle66,

your post shows what an unrefined piece of white trash you are. you seriously need to get laid or psychiatric treatment or something significant. More than anything you need to get you *** kicked to shut that ignorant mouth of yours.

Dude, I don''t even like Patrick Swazye, and I hated Dirty Dancing and most of his movies, but the dude''s got pancreatic cancer.

Show some class, if you have any that is.

Although bullwinkle66 is a bit on the scary side with his post (bitter much?) I would like to add that I''m very sorry to hear this. I''ve always been a great fan of his despite the criticism of his acting and choice of movies. I loved Dirty Dancing. I am so very sorry to hear he is battling this very scary cancer and I wish him nothing but success with his treatments.
