Young Royal Returns From War Zone, Described As Most "Normal" Life He's Known
- What BS-the rich & connected do not fight in the phoney wars & in the States they do not pay for them either-their tax cut will give them enough to have much leftover for fine wine ,while the middle class in destroyed paying for the stupidity of Bush.

- I have a great admortation for Prince Harry. He did go to the Afghn front.
He had to terminate his deployment early or he would have put the other UK miliary personal in grave danger once the news media reported his deployment.
That would have also put the US military in grave danger as well. I am a ex GI myself.
As others have allready mentioned on how many sons and daughters of our politial leadership with the exception of John McCain''s son have seved in Iraq or Ben Laden''s residence? - Reply to this comment
- His fellow soldiers nicknamed him bullet-magnet in Afghanistan, but unfortunately now that Islamic Extremist know he fought there he will also continue to be a bullet-magnet back home! There is nothing normal about increased security around you.

It was Harry''s job to coordinate air strikes from a forward O.P. within range of enemy small arms fire. - Reply to this comment
- fools. the lot of you who dont recognize this for the propaganda it is. this wasnt found and leaked by drudge. drudge was used as a springboard by those all the way up in the top penthouse who have had this planned from the beginning.
they were already interviewing the dude while he was there so there would be great footage and interviews the second they decided to leak. this kid was in more danger flying over there than any other time guaranteed. probably didnt even fly regular military. there is a difference between supporting troops (even british troops) and mindlessly buying a load of bs.
america- stop it.. stop buying all the bull you read and draping it with unnecessary patriotism. you are allowed to use your brains.
from the ''showbuzz'' article: "Whether it was part of the plan or not, the public relations fallout from Harry''s war zone experience has been a bonanza for the royal family, and for him. His reputation as a partying prince has been changed. Now he''s a warrior prince, a hero prince."
do you really think the brits needed another soldier (calling in air strikes... from the back... a radio operator) so bad... that they had to use the prince cause there was no-one else to do the job? this is all pr, wake up. - Reply to this comment

- rosesnpearls...Please allow me to explain something to you. Just because there are some of us who oppose the war does NOT mean that we are against our troops. The men and women serving over there are Americans and we have the utmost respect for them. Also, the fact that we oppose the war does not make us traitors in any way. We realize that you are coming from a different place but we support your right to believe as you choose. We love our country just as much as you do and for you to accuse us of being traitors is simply ridiculous. It would be wonderful if things would work out over there tomorrow and we could bring our troops home but we realize that it is not going to happen. In the meantime we support our troops and hope that some kind of peace can be reached. You call us "spineless" and "immoral" and you are dead wrong. I did not spend 18 months of my life in a combat zone for some putz to call me spineless. Think about what you are saying.

- andrew_693...Apparently you do not understand the concept of the royal family. Although the comcept of royalty is somewhat foreign to us here in the USA, it has been in place in Britain for centuries. While it may be true that Harry likes to party, that is not unusual for someone his age. The Bush twins certainly did their share. And, truth be told, Bush himself was partying and drinking while other poor bas8ards were serving their full commitments in Viet Nam. So you are a little disingenious when you make remarks about Harry. At least he had the cohones to go and serve on the front lines. Can''t say the same for your neocon idols can you?

- At least the ones on college campus ''pro-war'' rallies have the character to support the ones who are making the sacrifices that they aren''t making unlike the spineless, inmoral people who picket against the war, which makes them traitors against the young men and women who are giving life and limb in service to their country - whether the war is right or wrong. And by the way, they aren''t ''pro-war'' rallies, they are support our troops rallies - no one in their right mind ''wants'' a war. Please.

- Oh, and IRLiberal, you''re right. I think it was a PR stunt (albeit a risky and stupid one) -- after all, not one but TWO showbuzz articles featured the Prince grinning his big white teeth. (which also counters the stereotype that the British have rotten teeth...)

- I''m glad he made it home safely.
I used to think "Well why don''t Chelsey, Jenna, and the rest of the gang" get involved in the wars respective of their times?
Of course, these are politicians'' children -- and therefore going to be high profile and therefore of greater interest by wrongdoers.
It''s rather like Fort Knox (which can help pay back the national debt); you don''t leave the gold in the open readily accessible for the baddies!
A step further; Go to the pro-war rallies at college campuses and ask them why THEY haven''t enlisted. Some may have valid reasons; others are being pansies about. - Reply to this comment
- He was there for ten weeks and now he is back? That''s 2.5 months, folks, for those of you a little short on the IQ points. A token bit of service, hardly worth the mention of it, and specifically designed for the PR value.

- He could have easily got out of going to the Afghan front. He did not have to go but he did. I think that right there says something about him. It''s a shame that the media had to exploit his being in Afghanistan.

- yeah, he is special, unlike all the other marines, navy seals, sas, royal marines, nato soldiers, etc..... this is how it is when you are a royal and live for free from the subjects. Now, time to go back to drinking and partying while all the other poor bas tards serve their full commitment and risk their necks every day so harry can enjoy not working for a living . Excellent PR, I think most people bought it.
