I'm a strong Obama supporter & proud of it !! The man is brilliant ---I'll certainly give all the young adults & students in this country credit for one thing ( the type of young,hip --vibe reader )--- & the VIBE artcile & pics are fantastic !!!!

Firstly, why do whites cringe at the mention of %u201Creparations%u201D for blacks, now did they cringe or vehemently complain when Japanese forced unto internment camps received monetary compensation, so why not the ancestors of former slaves?
Secondly, notwithstanding the degradation, exploitation, and subjugation of African slaves in America, please consider the systemic/institutionalized racism and discrimination, which followed this era that had/has thwarted the upward mobility and economic success of many blacks.
Thirdly, the surreptitiousness and pretentiousness towards blacks in areas of political empowerment, i.e. the right to vote, blocking seats in congress, etc. and deliberately poisoning black communities with illicit drugs--as much as white Americans have tried to divert total blame unto blacks, they do bare a lot of responsibility, for it is because of their negative ideological views towards blacks that had created systemic or institutionalized racism.
That doesn%u2019t mean black folks are any less responsible for their actions, in which they can%u2019t fault white America for every catastrophic occurrence or degradations within the black community%u2014however given the fact they never had opportunities tandem to whites from the start it is only fair that white America %u201Clevels or evens out the playing field%u201D.
So, therefore, I can certainly see where Obama is going with this.
Pouring additional revenue into inner-city public schools is much more productive than the continuance building of prisons, which Halliburton is the only one that profits, don%u2019t you think. Also, encouraging blacks to become more interested in entrepreneurship, as oppose to stagnating themselves into consumerism, is much more productive as well.
So, all in all, I don%u2019t see anything that Obama has stated to be neither antagonistic nor adversarial to the schema of American society.
