Idiots who keep mouthing off about "it's hot in the desert what a surprise" need to shut up until they have some notion of what they're talking about. There is high desert and low desert, which are entirely different conditions, and desert is similar to the arctic environment in that it is a fragile ecosystem and change there is obvious and significant. That global climate change is ocurring is undeniable. That it is happening too fast to be healthy for human life is fact. What is causing it is the only debatable issue. The human conceit comes in when we assume anything can be done to stop it, which I am seriously inclined to doubt. It is also conceit to assume that we are endangering the planet, in either case; at most we are endangering present life on earth, which in the case of humanity, anyway, is no great loss. Go lemmings, go!

Madonna, the poster child for women who don't know how to grow old gracefully, is helping to raise money to protect the environment from herself! It is been reported that she has invested about 2.7 million dollars in several companies named as the biggest corporate polluters in the world ..... the same companies that are creating the destruction that LIVE EARTH is supposedly trying to raise awareness of. If she was really interested in the cause, and not just reviving her fading career, she'd stay home and pull her investments from those companies. What a hypocrite!

There is a very simple solution to global warming. Build modern new cities with modern public transportation. The same trains that run in New York subway can run on the surface. I'd abondon my gas-gazzling 8-cylinder Cadillac. The problem is that liberals are not interested in solutions. They are interested to have problems, - and to *** about it.
It's the same about college education. Liberals say it's not affordable. But there are online colleges like www.business-school-online.us.
Those that don't have learning disability, can get an associate degree online for total of $1200, textbooks included. Why liberals don't start affordable online colleges? Because they don't want to solve any problems. If they solve the problems, what they will talk about?

Have any of you seen inconvient truth, obviously not?
Kevboom:

Ive seen it and its facts are wrong. Plus listen to what you just said, Emision levels rising for the last 100 years. Well we have only been gathering data on the weather for 100 years.

Go google the Myth of Global Warming, then talk to me when youve actaully watch or read a counter point.

New York Times: aug. 1977 Front Page story:

Green House Emisions beleived to be increasing which will hurl the planet into another ICE AGE!!

What Blind followers you all are

kevboom speaks of
"greedy politicians and lobbyists who would sell out their own children for a buck. In fact, they have"

Isn't this what Al Gore was doing when he made the movie "An Inconvenient Truth?" We all know how much truth is in the "inventor of the internet."

No kevboom, I have not watched this movie. However, I have watched a short snippet of a NAZI propaganda movie about the necessity of liquidating the Jews. I didn't understand a word of it, and didn't even know about whom the narrator was jabbering, but I suddenly realized how important it was to exterminate these people. Effective propaganda is like that.

Just because "An Inconvenient Truth" was effective propaganda does not mean that it contained any truth.

Like the movie I saw, this one advocates increased power for one world government to do harm to individuals. Sig Heil!

I figured out the cause of Global Warming????

His name is Al Gore.

Thanks to that idiot, teamed up with the drive by media the news for the last few days been that its really hot in Arizona.....

What a news story, its hot in the desert, in the middle of summer.

The earth heats and cools itself all the time, no big deal. Maybe we should have an investigation to see weather or not Al Gore lied to everyone about Global Warming, we could give congress another pointless investigation, although in this investigation, they might actually find someone who did something wrong.

However, I am a skeptic about what is currently called global warming. I have been highly suspicious for years about the political agenda that has slowly accrued around this issue. As a lapsed Catholic, I detest dogma in any area. Too many of my fellow Democrats seem peculiarly credulous at the moment, as if, having ground down organized religion into nonjudgmental, feel-good therapy, they are hungry for visions of apocalypse. From my perspective, virtually all of the major claims about global warming and its causes still remain to be proved.

Climate change, keyed to solar cycles, is built into Earth's system. Cooling and warming will go on forever. Slowly rising sea levels will at some point doubtless flood lower Manhattan and seaside houses everywhere from Cape Cod to Florida -- as happened to Native American encampments on those very shores. Human habitation is always fragile and provisional. People will migrate for the hills, as they have always done.

Who is impious enough to believe that Earth's contours are permanent? Our eyes are simply too slow to see the shift of tectonic plates that has raised the Himalayas and is dangling Los Angeles over an unstable fault. I began "Sexual Personae" (parodying the New Testament): "In the beginning was nature." And nature will survive us all. Man is too weak to permanently affect nature, which includes infinitely more than this tiny globe.

Have any of you watched "An Inconvenient Truth"? Evidently not. There's LOADS of scientific evidence showing emissions levels rising through the roof over the last 100 or so years, more than the earth has seen in hundreds of thousands of years. It's not part of the regular ice age cycle as fossil-burning energy lobbyists would like you to believe through their lies. Listen to the worlds' scientists, not greedy politicians and lobbyists who would sell out their own children for a buck. In fact, they have: http://www.aaas.org/climate/

The artists are urging us to go green, but the very concert they performed used up a lot of energy. Think of all the electricity used and how it was produced... Coal, natural gas, hydro, or nuclear... Electricity was used by everyone associated with the show. They really want us to go "green", maybe they should put their money where their mouths are and do an "unplugged" version.

Nice choice of venue: the one continent that didn't experience glaciation, the one continent that can thank global warming for nothing!

"Global warming" is a complex and unproved science based on assumptions. And here in the UK it's being used as another excuse to fleece our pockets.

There have been four major ice ages. I wonder why the earth warmed after the last one. Is it because woolly mammoths wouldn't stop driving large cars and insisted on budget flights?

Come on rheola, wake up and smell the con.
