He said something he's going to regret the rest of his life and his fabulous ex-wife decides that this is something the world needs to know. So which is really scarring their child more? Him having said it once or the fact that every news outlet is posting and playing the call continuously? I would bet that more psychological damage is being done by Bassinger's release of this audio and it's continuous exposure than the initial call itself.

Why does this most obnoxious woman continuously butt into everyone's business and comment on everything controversial in the news? One can only hope that one day soon she will be removed from any media forum that gives her a voice. Someone needs to stand up and tell her to shut her mouth for once in her life! Obviously her comments are strategically planned to help beef the ratings on Bab's show The View, - Yes Rosie must you be reminded that it is Bab%u2019s show after all.

Alec may be trying to connect, but by his OWN actions, he is alienating HIMSELF from his daughter. What daughter in her right mind would volunteer to spend time with a father who spoke to her like this man? Not I for sure.

I agree with the other person's comment that Im sick and tired of Rosie butting in everything and having to voice her opinion! Worry about yourself! I think Alec Baldwin was way out of line saying those horrible things to his daughter. It was very degrading and this is emotional abuse to me. I should know, because my father has spoken to me like that as well. Nobody; woman, man or child should be spoken to like that! I think Kim Basinger went through a very abusive realtionship with Alec Baldwin. I can read between the lines since Ive been abused too. She may not be totally innocent of everything, but Alec Baldwin definitly has a mean and abusive side to him! I wouldnt want my daughter to be with him either! Love Ya Kim! I support you in every way lady!

Alec Balwin is the "dirty little pig." There is NO EXCUSE whatsoever, nothing, zero - that allows a parent to say that to his child. The saddest part is this child is officially scarred for life at 11. She will NEVER forget. II thank God every day for my parents unconditional love. Alec Baldwin can't be rehabilitated - he is a sick man. He needs to just grow up and think about someone other than his disgusting self. He is lower than pond scum.

For heaven's sake people, what kind of a home did you grow up in? Yes, all parents lose their temper or speak words in anger. That is normal. What is NOT normal is a five-minute to ten-minute long rant which attacks your child's character and is punctuated with screaming swear words. He didn't just attack her actions, he attacked her as a person again and again and again and basically said she is a worthless piece of dirt. How in the world can anyone justify this as normal?

I want to know who the 'dirty pig' was that decided this was newsworthy in the beginning. I wouldn't call this NEWS...GOSSIP, maybe, but not news. Hey, anyone think that it was irresponsible MEDIA for LEAKING it in the forst place? What parent HASN'T yelled at their kid? I am getting to the point where I turn off the computer or TV when this GOSSIP is presented as NEWS. It's an invasion of privacy, detrimental to individuals, and not something I even WANT to hear about, much less hear everyone else's OPINIONS on! I say the MEDIA is to blame for this one!

I love how liberals try to deflect Alec's actions by blaming Kim, his own anger at the situation, long work hours, etc. etc. etc. Here's something: Try TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!!! Nobody is worrying about how poor Ireland is going to be affected. We in this country have a real problem with owning up to our mistakes and not blaming everyone else. I don't know what kind of person Kim is, or what Ireland has done in the past, but no one put a gun to Alec's head to make those remarks.

These parents should be totally ashamed of themselves. Neither one of them cares one iota about Ireland because neither Alec or Kim can see past the end of their own nose!

Personally I think Ireland would be better off without either of them. I predict this is going to be one very troubled teen who is going to get into all sorts of trouble in years to come.

And the blame will and should be laid right at the feet of the selfish, spoilt brats of parents.

Oh and maybe at the feet of the money-hungry lawyers who keep this awful fight going.

Take the kid away from them, put her in a home with people who will genuinely love her and not use her as a football.

Every part of every life has a 'worst moment'. I don't know if this is the worst it ever was for these people. I do know that people who love each other, whether they are in the same family or not, can triumph over their worst moments. I don't know if they can do it in public, and people who oppose Mr. Baldwin for any reason are doing quite well at keeping this public.

Can Rosie ever keep her big mouth shut about anything. I am getting so sick and tired of her having to open her mouth about anything and everything, and esp. nothing that concerns her.

Both parents are monsters, as they are putting themselves before their child.

I also for once, and probably the only time, agree with Rosie. This shouldn't have been made public and why is Kim not being taken to court for releasing it. I'm sure if this girl goes to school they will make it even harder than it is for her. I think the mother should be made out to be the monster in this case.

I can't believe I'm going to agree with Rosie about something, but I do. He snapped in a rude, crude, and socially unacceptable way at his child, but parents do that sometimes. The real point is to make it right with the kid and make sure they understand that it IS okay for parents to get mad at their kids, but not okay to handle it that way. NO one is perfect and we all say things we regret. We just don't always have to worry about it being aired to the public. Good luck, family.

My thought is ~~~
Why in the world would a mother put her child through this horrible mess. Yes the father left a message he should not have.
but why make it public for all the world. and make the child live it over and over again. Nobody is pointing to the mother and saying you are a bad parent for making it public.
everyone is just looking at the father in this case.
That poor kid should not be with either parent.

If this is the way Alec Baldwin is trying to "connect" with his kid, then I shudder to think when he's really mad. I heard the whole message and it was appalling. This is a very simple situation where a parent loses his cool and has a tantrum, except that he's the adult and his daughter is only 12! I can only imagine the hurt this girl had to endure to listen to someone she loves rant like that. And Rosie...well she doesn't really have a clue...

Hear, hear. Are our own lives so empty we have to get caught up in every petty detail of the lives of celebrities?

Well ... yes, apparently they are, I guess, as the entire population seems to strive to be on a first-name basis with a cadre of millionaires they will never meet. It's pathetic.

That tape is a private family matter. It shouldn't have been sent to the media. Any media outlet receiving it should not have aired it. We are in a new era of journalism that is ruthless, disgusting, and destructive (like NBC's airing of the Cho tapes.) Baldwin's outburst is no worse than many shouting matches that every American family has had at one time or another. And it is none of our business.
