Woman Died Despite Listener Warning On Danger Of Chugging Too Much Water
- I don't know what the civil or criminal liabilities are, but given the nature of the contest and the risks involved, it was negligent not to have it monitored by a medical professional.

- I'll put it another way, if they put one bullet in a six shot revolver, and tell 18 people to play Russian roulette for a prize in a contest, even if they warn them, somebody might still take a chance. If that gun kills that somebody, they are still responsible even though the 18 knew the gun was loaded.
Why? Because they provided the contest, they provided the prize, they provided the gun, they provided the bullet. They knew someone could be killed and still ran the contest.
"Gun" or "water" they should have not proceeded with a contest that was so dangerous. - Reply to this comment

"quit blaming everyone else for your own stupidity"
This poor mother of three can't blame anybody ,she is dead.
It looks to me she is dead because she did not know any better, "Everybody" does not know about "everything" that can kill them.
On the other hand, by the D J's own admission, they knew the dangers involved, and therefore, should never have let the contest proceed.
The District Attorney's office should look into this matter.
The Station owners better get their wallets out, a very large number of attorney's will go after them for the kids sake. - Reply to this comment
- The person 'whose elbow bent' is not to blame - she was told she was drinking a harmless substance. If I give you a nice hot coffee from behind a Starbucks counter (no I don't work there - but the radio station was giving them water in what seemed a harmless context), and I put cyanide in it, is it your fault for drinking it?
She had no reason to know this would be deadly, nor even harmful - what's less harmful than water? Anyone, any of us, could have been her or her mother, father, brother, sister. She wasn't dumb, they were. - Reply to this comment
- Finally, a radio station management with some guts. It was the right thing to do firing all 10 people!!!!

- The only person to blame here is the person who's own elbow bent and drank their life away....no need for lawyers here. Contest or not. No one including the DJ's are responsible for what you do....if you are stupid enough to take the drinks then you must pay the price.....Last account I have about life, birth gave you the right to choices, wise up and make them and quit blaming everyone else for your own stupidity.
