Comments on: 'Seinfeld's' Richards Spews Racial Slurs
Jerry Seinfeld Speaks Out On Former Co-Star's Derogatory Remarks At Comedy Club
- Chapelle uses slurs about every race. He has no limits. And, he is crafty about it, unlike Richards. Chapelle is a good-stand up comedian, but Richards is not.

- This doesn't surprise me one bit, blacks on one side and whites on another, with those defenders comparing this obnoxious comment to Dave Chappell, an interesting rationalization. If Chappell is using in his comedy act, racial obnoxious slurs about whites then he should apologize as well, however, using his routine to justify or rationalize this %u201Cvileness%u201D is a low.
I was never much of a fan of Seinfeld, so I can imagine the impact it has had on some, but I%u2019m quite sure those who choose to rationalize this type of insidious behavior, should have no problem rationalizing O.J. Simpson%u2019s tell all book. - Reply to this comment

- I watched the video of this incident. It really did seem to me that he was going for an "Andy Kaufmann"-like shock comedy bit when the heckler starting in on him. If any of you remember some of Andy's planned heckler confontations, they were raw, emotional, and Andy totally loved getting that kind of reaction out of a crowd. It didn't come off to me like he was really actualy angry, almost like it was actually part of the act, like it was some sort of shock material he decided to try out. Of course it went totally bad from the start and your not going to pull it all out of the flames after that.

- You're right. It's a double standard. Some might even call it hypocrisy. And no, I don't find Dave's routines very funny, but then I'm not 16 years old.

- Okay, if you have a problem when Blacks do it, I understand. But, I'm cool with it dude. But, everyone should be cool when Dave Chapelle makes fun of people. Dave makes fun of everyone equally. And he is super funny, way funnier than Richards and Seinfeld put together. All I am saying is the to a white guy from the suburbs, Chapelle is an idol. Forget the double standard when it comes to Chapelle.

- I have no idea who you're arguing with about Richards. There's aren't two sides to it. What he did was wrong. However, if you think it's not wrong when black people do it, you need to start wearing your helmet.

- Well then I guess I'll be stupid, as long as I don't have a problem with it. But, if someone has a problem with me calling them a certain name, I'll just make fun of them some other way. There are millions of ways to poke fun at people without having to inflict anger. Besides, I would miss Dave Chapelle making fun of white folks. Have you watched this guy. He is hilarious. Go to youtube.com and type in Wu-Tang Financial. funny stuff.

- As someone who has spent thirty-eight years doing strand up, what Richards did is not comedy, let alone funny.

- Because I play football, am from the Detroit area, and my school is diverse, I can see both sides of the argument. From an all white perpective, I can see how one can defend Richards and try to put the pasts of slavery. But, from another POV, I see that slavery still exists in another form and bringing up certain stuff is still sentitive. It's not your fault Ronnie, I'm sure you don't want to be accounted for anything. But, the fact of the matter is, there is still a social divide that creates hostility between the different races in America. Blacks are not equal to whites. Many of the blacks on my team live in poorer houses and apartments. MAking fun of how they got to their current state is mean and should make them mad. I know if I were in the same situation, I would be angry. But it's still kind of hard to imagine since I live in a big house.
