Video Suggests Stingray Stab Wound, Not Venom, Was Fatal Blow
- To say something really nice about Steve Irwin...
The man had a good heart. He tried to use this sideways worlds media to do something good in his own time and space.
To put it all into perspective. If everyone tried to do that for a moment out of their day just imagine where this world could be.
You know, I used to live seven blocks from the WTC, we had BBQ's on the roof and looked up at those beautiful buildings and we were in awe! The designers of those buildings were amazing. These past few years have given much perspective on where we live our lives. Steve gave us a good look at the lives we wished we could live or at least enjoyed watching on the tube. So FA Q to any stupid people who just do not get it because they are so trapped or whatever in their own situations or thoughts about other people. Judge yourselfs you stupid SOB'S.

- Sadly Mr. Irwin leaves behind a wife and 2 young children. I agree that he put himself in harms way by encroaching on wildlife in their natural habitat, or even worse when he put on his stupid croc in captivity shows, but he deserves no "you got what you deserved rhetoric bull thrown at him now. God bless his family.

- Steve Irwin reminds me of Tim Treadwell, another nature enthusiast who pushed his luck too far and got eaten alive by one of his beloved grizzly bears. His shows were entertaining but many times I felt, were disrespectful of his animal subjects. Gaia can be a harsh mistress! The natural world is no place to prove your manhood or show the world what a tough guy you are. The encroachment of man on the habitats of wild animals is a major factor in their ongoing, tragic extinction, something Irwin was trying to prevent. Irwin's and Treadwell's final lesson to the rest of us should be: keep your distance in the wild. Don't approach or interfere with wild animals, much less wrestle with them before a camera for entertainment. Don't patronize them and treat them like your little buddies with whom you think you have a privileged relationship. Your fate almost certainly will be that of Irwin's. See the work David Attenborough for an example of a truly great and humane naturalist Adios Steve.

- Apache56, you have a real problem. Nobody needs or deserves to die that way, basically a knife to the heart. Steve Irwin did more for Australia and animal conservation than anyone has in years. He was loud, a bit flamboyant but typical Aussie and loved by many, including his family. And unlike so many, he involved his family in his life's work with passion and enthusiasm and put him money where his mouth was, which I suspect is much more than you do.

- Steve Irwin was a great wildlife conservationist and he will be greatly missed by myself and millions of others. I grieve as deeply as his wife and kids for him. The guy was one of a kind. Who could possibly replace him? I have been looking forward to another movie similar to his other. Steve, you will be certainly missed. God bless you for everything. There will never be another that could entertain so many with so few resources.
