But....but........but, every good right-winger knows that climate change exists only in the minds of "them libruls."

China is building one coal fired plant per week to support their growing economy. Stop buying their junk and they won't have the money to build carbon spewing coal plants. Ohh Yea, keeping the money in this county is not a bad thing either.

Every time an article is published with more proof of man-made climate change, this gang of trolls appears to insult the scientists who've dedicated their lives to climate study and offer up all manner of nonsense as alternative "theory." The fact is the Saudis and Iranians have funded a disinformation campaign against climate change study for a decade. They are desperately afraid that oil revenue will dry up and threaten their funding for Islamic jihad. The naysayers are not morons, or ignorant, or even Republicans. They're terrorists.

You Republican naysayers, when your child is hungry and cold because there is no source from where to obtain food or water, due to shortages from climate-change---please apologize to them and tell them how wrong you were. Don't blame anyone else, blame yourself.

Looked at the picture and noticed the snow was six feet deep and that the COAL FIRED PLANT has TWO NUCLEAR COOLING TOWERS. Typical environmental nut making up their own picture and facts to support their own ideology. CBS you can do better than this garbage, at least get the science and technology right.

Do you think AGW magically stops all snow?

Sadly, I'm betting he does. The fact that it's not 90-degrees in Minnesota year-round means that climate change isn't happening.

If climate change continues, there will be even more snow than that because its about extremes. "Global warming" is just a label that refers to climate change and results in extreme weather conditions brought on by such.

What you are calling/screaming "two nuclear cooling towers" are venturi cooling towers, a shape that provides a large amount of evaporative cooling (without the need for fans) since the efficiency of any steam-based power plant (nuclear, coal, etc.) is dependent on the delta of the temperature of the working fluid and the cooling fluid.
Your lack of knowledge on this subject and willingness to evince your ignorance puts into question the logic/thought behind your subsequent ideologically based opinions.

Government and indusry must begin now to emphasize building more water desalinationn plants around the globe. All studies indicate that when basic shortages of water and food production occur, people will do what they always do: Fight to survive, and the the have nots will fight the haves.

Regardless of economic interests or political pursuasion, knowing the environment is being harmed by CO2 emissions is a matter of common sense. All the CO2 from millions of smokestacks and billions of vehicles must end up somewhere. It's repository is the ozone layer, without which, every thing will burn. Another factor is earth tilt, as evidenced by the 1% tilt scientists say changed the Sahara desert from a green paradise to world's largest desert. Some scientists are stating that if nothing substantial to control emissions is done by 2015, the earth will have reached a point of no return.

What are the effects: With a growing earth population, water and food shortages to name two very serious shortfalls.

How's that drought in Texas? How's that tornado in Joplin, Mo. How are those record floods along the Mississippi, in Pakistan, in Thailand? Never in the history we can measure, including tens of thousands of years ago, has the temperature and carbon dioxide levels risen as fast as they have the last 150 years. But continue to listen to Rush and Hannity and O'Reilly because they are all experts in faux science. And keep denying what climate scientists say is already happening.

This spike was predicted years ago as a result of CO2 gas that was trapped in soil below permafrost being released due to above average temperatures.

Here we go again - the world is going to end - the sky is falling - the media and left wing politicians are the only ones who can save us. If the United States wanted an ice age with no carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere, it is fairly easily to do. One super tanker loaded with iron in very very small micro pellets needs to spray the Pacific Ocean over a couple of 1,000,000 square miles. An algae bloom in the iron poor ocean would occur and absorb most if not all of the carbon dioxide giving us a mini ice age or at the least a cold world wide climate year round for a few years.

The real factor in global warming that is never mentioned by the media or the left wing - is that the output/size of the sun is not constant. The sun varies in size and heat and our distance and orbit distance from the sun varies over thousands of years. The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has very little effect on Earth's temperature overall over a long period as core samples of glaciers from the Ice Age show that carbon dioxide levels were much 2 to 3 times higher than they are now. Hence, the ice and glaciers formed even with extremely higher carbon dioxide levels - so much for global warming hooey.

The iron micro pellets sink too far for algae which reside close to the surface to utilize.
