Oh My, anothe crisis that will be a shame to waste.

Global Warming is a theory that is only supported by "scientists" on government grants. No credible study has proven the theory and there a few that disprove it. Menahwile, Al Gore has gotten rich and Obama plans to tax your utilities. He needs the money but he will say its for you.

Questions:

1. "Will higher taxes on our utilities cause us to use less?"
2. "Will it be the rich or the poor who will go without the comfort of a warm/cool house and easy travel?"
3. "If the government gets lots of money from taxing carbon will this make the planet cooler? How? Because that would be ownderful science to understand."

Finally, :How long will Americans believe this Bull that the Administration is foisting on us?" Its manipulation. Plain and simple.

No, people will not adjust to your idea of a communist country that dictates what we will drive and how we live. It's called Freedom, check into it some time.

It's not called Global Warming anymore because it doesn't exist. Now they call it climate change, which has been naturally occurring since the dawn of time.

Al Gore and Team Obama are perpetrating the biggest sham in history.

Don't buy it. And don't buy what the government controled media is ramming down your throat. 1,000s of scientists across the world say global warming and manmade climate change is a sham.

Yes, it has occured since time began, and it is always the earth reacting to events, like volcanic eruptions and meteor strikes. Now it is again reacting to events, namely OUR pollution of the earth and oceans. Open your eyes and see the evidence that is everywhere! There is a 1-to-1 causal relationship between the mounting CO2 and our CO2 producing society and the warming of the planet ("warming" was so misused by many it was changed to "climate change" - how was it misued? By idiots making claims that extreme cold in some areas proved global cooling - but global warming will cause extremes: some areas will be colder some hotter some drier some wetter etc... .EXTREMES) Welcome to the future. Be prepared for some real HE[[

There is a correlation between warming and CO2, but correlation does not prove causation, that's Science 101. The Warming can be due to natural variability in the Sun's output, or other factors that we don't yet understand. As this warming causes more Glacial melting and more plant life to grow, voila, you have more CO2. None of this is to say that man does not bear a responsibility to be a good steward of planet Earth. I'm as green as anyone you'll ever meet. However, I don't think that humans are responsible for the rise in Earth's temperature, and even if we were, nothing short of World War III is going to change the path we're on. China and India will surpass our CO2 outputs and keep on going in the next couple of decades. If you really think we're causing the warming then you should head for high ground.

Why doesn't the govt just come out and say that no 100% gasoline combustion
engine cars can be sold in the US come 2015 ? Hybrids, electric,
hydrogen fuel cells, solar cars only. Global warming and only a 30
year supply of oil have made 10 mpg Hummers unacceptable any longer.
The time for "giving consumers what they want", low mpg SUV's, is over.
People will adjust.

It doesnt matter whether the fule that drives our cars comes from gasoline or coal fired electric generators. It takes energy to run a car. It takes MORE energy to BUILD and RUN an electric car, just less gasoline. I know that many hope that somehow windmills or solar collectors will offset much of our energy. But even the most optomistic estimates say 20% of energy can come from wind/solar. If you power cars from plugging them in somewhere the electric burden becomes even worse.

What do you drive? Where do you live? There people who need power in their jobs to deliver goods and services (such as truck drivers) in areas that are not on flat land (such as in the mountains). Sorry, but a small hybrid doesn't work in all situations.

Chicken Little - "The sky is falling!" "The sky is falling!"

President Obama - "I'm deeply concerned.........". Geez, he and Michelle have another date night coming up. Guess he'll have his gas guzzling jets all fired up just so he and the missus can git to their play time, all at the expense of the duped public that loves them ever so much. Remember the hokum from Al Gore's lips? He was chastising people for contributing to global warming while he was flying around in a gas guzzler private jet. Ah, yes, the ole Dem mantra: "...do as I say, not as I do..."

Protect your wallets folks, 'cause the far-reaching talons of this regime needs your money in order to fund their anti-global warming forced down the throat policies.

Oh grow up will you?? You people are so childish and stupid it's embarrassing!

How about you fools read the report and find out for yourselves instead of showing the same ridiculous knee jerk reaction. These are scientists, and they have nothing to gain by compromising their own integrity...actually, they have everything to lose.

Sure they do, big bugs is what they have to lose...just think of how much those hippy dippy scientists that Al Bore hired to promote his book got out of that $100 million in book sales.

And just think how much money Al Bore has made in speaking engagements since...

Not to mention the dollars funneled to any scientist who will back up this krap theory so the government will have the power not only to keep you from driving your car, but also to tax you out the wazooo for your carbon imprint and bring billions of dollars into government control...

$$$$$$'s and lots of it!

LMAO! That would be big bucks, not big bugs...typing fingers went awry.

Perhaps. What's it like to be the laughingstock of the current generation? Coping yet? LOL

1 american said GW 'will be exposed as junk science'
Just about every Academy of Science on the planet has formally agreed that GW is a real and present danger. And they represent the vast majority of scientists, especially climate scientists. I'm not sure who you're going to get to expose GW as junk science, there's no one left.

CBS's new comments section blows chunks a mile wide.

Well, NO, not nearly every Academy of Science on the planet has formally agreed with this KRAP!!! Thousands of scientists are saying this THEORY is junk science!!!

Even NASA, did you get that, NASA, has said that the climate change is due to the cyclic events caused by the SUN!!!!
by IThoughtItWasFunnyAgin June 16, 2009 8:15 PM EDT
Remember, NASA, Ubrew, the space agency that has actually sent humans and machinery through the atmosphere and been in space????

They are saying global warning is JUNK SCIENCE, that they have oberserved climate events for years affected by cyclic events due to the SUN!!!!

NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies endorses the science of global warming. It's the only institute in NASA charged with understanding earth's climate, the other institutes are focused on the engineering of space exploration and habitation, and I would no more accept their point of view on global warming than I would accept that of a software engineer. I also think that's at the root of the problem with you deniers. You got an engineering degree, some thermodynamics, you've designed electrical, software, or mechanical systems, and so of course, NOW you're going to tell us about earth's atmosphere. Well, to tell me about earths atmosphere, I'll take a climatologist, thank you very much, NOT an electrical engineer, or a geologist (who is an expert on ROCKS, yes?). The right is counting on the horrific ignorance of the general American public to trot out all these scientific 'experts' (in anything but climate), to discount the science of climate change. That's like going to a plumber and asking him to fix your car. Which you, no doubt, do with some frequency.
by michael_lyns June 16, 2009 11:02 PM EDT
GW is not proved or consensus. There is a petition signed by over 30,000 scientists working in Climatology and related fields whose credentials are listed on the petition site: http://www.oism.org/pproject/
If you really want to know the truth, you should not rely on the Administration or the MSM. EVERYONE has an agenda. The scientists who say GW is real are getting grant money to study the phenomenon. Conflict of interest much. The politicians are using it as a scare tactic to enact social change. Don't for one minute think that any of this has to do about the weather. NO ONE CAN CHANGE THE WEATHER. Get a grip.
