... animals to not have even the same remote likeness to humans hello, in fact any idiot in the scientific community alleging to be an EXPERT know human skeletal system and organs system does not come close to animals study the DNA idiots...

furthermore, let''s look at snakes snakes send of fermones to let the other snake know hey babe I''m in the mood ...

humans, use eyeballs and senses of smell, sight, sound, hearing, taste to determine awe this specimen is worthy of my kiss what ever...

furthermore scientific studies by real scientific institutions who have a clue morons use the scientific calculations known as THE GOLDEN RULE based on mathematics, that is to say the dimensions of ones lips to nose to eyes DETERMINE if you have a good mate selection amongst humans oxy morons big difference with animals in nature (look at the DNA versus humans morons)

I would have liked an antidote for my first crush gone south. Could help us understand depression and other maladies as well. I think we are close to a watershed moment in the understanding and treatment of addiction.

"this ridiculous waste of money..." - brianbwb

Brian, this is not a ridiculous waste of money. It is merely bad popular reporting about important scientific research. All scientific research is useful. Much research just reveals tiny bits of knowledge and its importance isn''t always immediately obvious. This, however, is clearly important. If we can understand which physiological components are involved in forming positive attachments, such as when someone is "in love", then we may begin to understand what is wrong with people who live in a constant state of fear and hatred and maybe we can give them something to help them become human.

"Its basically saying love doesn''t exist, but it does. Emotions don''t just come from your brain. People are such idiots!!!" - dasha88

Yes, you are!

Every experience you have, every idea, every emotion, every thought... they all exist because of your brain. If you don''t believe that, try thinking or felling anything without your brain! It just doesn''t happen.

Very interesting story and interesting research. Why would anyone be bothered with the chemical and biological explanation of love and emotions? We know that brain injuries can cause tremendous personality changes, so why would emotions not have a physical/chemical origin?

I know some will be shocked to hear this, but the heart is a pump.

Yeah, that''s right, A PUMP.

Maybe you should ask an artificial heart recipient if they love someone.

Some people are just freakin'' CLUELESS...

You guys really need to proof read your headlines before posting them. LOL

BJ,

I think I got it figured out. This is supposed to be CBSs attempt at a Valentine relevant article.

Just a hunch, but somehow K. Couric might have been involved with it. She can be so sappy this time of year.

Could it be the purpose of this ridiculous waste of money is to find out how to surgically remove love from humans, to make them even more apt to make war?

Posted by brianbwb at 06:34 PM : Feb 11, 2009

Geeez, way to go buzz-kill! We were getting a good string of amusing & funny posts & you had to come along & drag us into the pit of war thinking.
It''s not yet 4:20, but now I''m depressed & I gotta start early. You could contribute with something fun & get the party back on track!

Of course its all in the head. The heart has no capacity for emotional functions. The heart thing is all a myth like the tooth fairy.

said Lucy Brown, a neuroscientist also at Einstein medical college. "Similar to craving the drug cocaine."

Guess ya could technically call a male infatuation with a female a crack addiction.
