please read what i actually write, rather than twisting what i write for your own ends.

i simply said that making a blanket statement about all teenagers who have cell phones is absolutely ridiculous. i did not say that no one in my school had *** or did drugs, i am simply saying that not everyone did. Myself included.

excuse me repo_man, i don''t know what kind of uncontrolled school district you worked in, but i graduated high school last year after attending for four years. everyone had a cell phone and not once did i see or hear of anything of this sort going on. for you to make blanket statements like "If you give your child a cell phone, you''''re GUARANTEEING that your child WILL be involved in drugs, crime, or s*x." is absolutely ridiculous

I am CERTAIN that at least 90% of parents had NO IDEA what their babies were REALLY DOING with their cell phones ALL DAY LONG.

And that''s just when the teacher IS LOOKING....

Boy it must really burn your butt to think there may actually be decent kids somewhere in America.

Parents take control. If the kids are underage they can''t sign a contract for a phone. Take the phone away and if they come up with another one, take it away. These little creeps do not derserve any latitude. But the parents need to be parents and do the tough things. If they don''t want to help stop this ***, then just take what you deserve.

If you give your child a cell phone, you''re GUARANTEEING that your child WILL be involved in drugs, crime, or s*x.
YOU ARE GUARANTEEING IT.

My son was sixteen when we gave him his cell phone for his birthday. He''s 21 now, no convictions, no kids, no drugs (he''s required to test regularly where he works)....

Oh, and isn''t Blago a democrat?

The more taboo you make something, the more your kids will do it. We went a long way to shock our parents. Is it so surprising to think our kids will do what we did? Each generation will have to go just a little farther than the last to do it. I wonder what their kids will have to do to shock them?

If your child has a cell phone, I GUARANTEE that your child is using it for crime, drugs, or s*x.
I GUARANTEE IT.

If you were a good teacher you''d have had a lot better control of the situation... maybe not you personally, but YOU as one of our educators. All a school has to do is have a 21st Century rule... no phones on during school hours... have them call the school office if it''s so damm important. Duh!

What did WE do, before kids had cell phones?????
Do you WANT your daughters to end up pregnant, on drugs, and in court just on the REMOTE chance of getting stranded "in a ditch" somewhere?????
I was a teacher. I saw ALL DAY LONG what kids REALLY do with their cell phones.
If their parents really WANTED them to do that, the parents belong in jail.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR CHILD A CELL PHONE. EVER. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Ugh, wheel bad!

And if they hit a deer on the way home, they should just wait for you to find them in the ditch in the middle of winter....

Either don''t get your teenager a cell phone or purchase one of those ''kiddie'' phones, with preset numbers for family and 911, with no texting and photo options. So you become the meanest parent in the world? Good for you, then. You have successfully done your job.

We had plenty of fun in the 70''s & 80''s too. We just had the common decency not to admit it so freely.
