I wonder how much money was spent to conduct this study, the results of which have been common knowledge for decades. This information is so old it''s not even close to being "news".

One of the reasons I don''t much approve of advertisments on TV showing stealing and violence.

I live in an area where a lot of new immigrants have moved in and I''m so sick to death of litter and graphiti. I''m sick to death of seeing kids open the car door and dump out a street full of fast food garbage then they get their spray cans and tag every wooden fence in the neighborhood.

It''s like they don''t even appreciate the country or the people who have welcomed them and offered their country as a home.

The obvious is often what most needs proving. Because often enough it''s not true. This is a good study, and backs up what we''ve seen in cities where laws were passed to halt small crimes and clean up the city - bigger crimes became less common.

They needed to waste hundreds of thousands of dollars on another OBVIOUS study!

They probably just watched Youtube.

Hmmm they had to do a study on this one? I guess they never heard of "Monkey see Monkey do". It''s been known for thousands of years.

You mean like in war when people start to kill each other and steal and prostitute themselves. We''ve known this stuff for years, what do you think the video game companies have bee doing to our psyche. You can also do this in your car. If you keep your car spotless people will not even ask to smoke in it, never mind leave wrappers or whatever.

Littering and stealing are illegal already. The people doing this under environmental influence weren''t brought up right in the first place. My own interpretation of the "broken windows" applies to the people breaking the windows - let ''em get away with that and eventually they''ll burn down the building. It''s said "character is what you do when no one is watching." These clandestine lawbreakers have no character.
