I see that before leaving office Bush will leave a legacy. Unfortunately, it is a legacy no one wants. What else will the crook do before he leaves office? Pardon himself for crimes against humanity?

If enough species go extinct, so will humanity. The earth is a living organism and it needs all it''s parts to survive. If humans continue their arrogant disregard for this fact, we shall perish.

Katie''s husband was an amazing guy. They loved each other very much. I am sure he has no problem with Katie living her life. In fact, knowing what I know about him he probably would have been a little impressed that she has become a cougar!

This is long overdue. The endangered specie''s act is used and abused by enviro extremists all too often. Its not about a specie that is going extinct, but rather, about an animal or plant disappearing from its natural habitat. Such as a canyon in an urban development. Meanwhile there are more of the same animals elsewhere on this planet.
A specie is not near extinction until its the last of its kind in the world....

This legislation is so sad, because I was really looking forward to watching the habitat for the 3-headed brown-ruffled red-tongued river skink take priority over the building of a orphanage in my little Ohio town.

It''s not about preventing orphanages from being built, its about putting oil wells and coal fired power plants in the middle of national parks and wildlife habitats

Of all the negative things CheneyBush have done this ranks just below starting their war ...their unmitigated assult on the environment. This is why we needed a majority of both houses of Congress plus the Presidency - to undo the mess they have created!

While I totally agree with those of you calling for Bushes head I see something entirely different in the future. I predict that within 10 to 15 years Bush will be hailed as a great president. Why? Not because Obama will do a bad job. I believe he will be an excellent president. But because the American people tend to have very short memories. It is amazing to me to see how revered Reagan is today. One of the worst presidents ever, he is given credit for things that he did not do. His de-regulation policies set in motion the disaster that we have now. He was involved up to his neck in illegal activities that were impeachment level offences. The only thing this man could do well was read a script. Wait and see...people will be saying what a wonderful guy Bush was. Sad isn''t it?

This comment isn''''t about GWB...but Katie Couric who appeared to be the "perfect wife" mourning so deeply the loss of her husband to colon cancer...NOW is she such a "perfect" widow sc*rewing someone 20 years younger?? Nothing would be said if she hadn''''t had mourned her husband so much but now it looks pretty phoney when her morals are just like a Hollywood ***.

I would normally not respond to such an asinine post as this, butyou are r-e-a-l-l-y reaching on this post! Morally...it doesn''t look like Katie has done anything to disrespect her husband''s memory! After all these years? It''s not like he recently passed away! And what business is it of yours? Has Katie caused you any harm? She is certainly entitled, just like every other human being on this planet to get on with her life now! She is not showing any disrepect to her deceased husband''s memory!

By the way, what does your post have to do with the subject of this article? I fail to see the link between Katie Couric''s dating anyone, and Bush continueing to sc*rew the American people! Oh-h-h-h now I get it....were you thinking of the word "sc*rew" as it pertains to Bush messing up our country so badly, just like he has messed up anything else he has ever touched?

What do YOU stand to lose if Bush''s regulations don''t make it through in time?

The Bush administration never ceases to amaze, ignoring public sentiment, scientific facts and the law in its pursuit of monetary gain! Never mind their policies will end not only in the extinction of animals and environment, but also their own extinction and ours!!!

Unfortuantely, the Crawford Cockroach, while a one-of-a-kind, is not an endangered species and is known to reproduce through simple ignorance.

Maybe the bush family bought that land in Paraguay so that they can run there and hide-out when the American people start pushing those in charge after Jan. 20 to punish them for their crimes.

Personally I find it hard to envision Laura residing at a ranch in Paraguay - she''d divorce the little **** before she''d do that, but then maybe that''s her plan.
