Scientists Hope World's Largest Particle Collider Will Help Explain The Makeup Of The Universe
- My son is in college and on Wednesday his professor told the class the world would end in 4 months because the this LHC experiment.

I''m also in college and my physics professor said this "ending of the world" is hype created by a few wild imaginations. Unfortunately, for ratings, the media posts these imaginations in the same announcements of the 1200 or so scientists that have dedicated their professional lives and careers to this project. So who are we supposed to believe? - Reply to this comment
- For those of you out there who are concerned about the operation of the LHC collider write an e-mail to U.S. Vice President Richard Cheney expressing your concerns His e-mail address is vice_president@whitehouse.gov. Tell him your concerns.
My son is in college and on Wednesday his professor told the class the world would end in 4 months because the this LHC experiment. If professors feel this way then there is a problem. If it is as safe as the operators contend then they should go on world wide television and hold a conference explaining in detail what they are doing and why, and a detailed descripition of all safetey features. Let the world court of public opinion decide if this should continue. - Reply to this comment

- "I began reading the bible when I was about five and read it several times over the next 30 years." Posted by tuckerndfw at 02:50 AM : Sep 11, 2008
I have read parts of the bible. I have always meant to read the whole thing, I just never have.
"There is no credible evidence to support any of the bible stories, including the Jesus myth. It is entirely based on faith."
I watched a television program on this awhile back. It started me thinking more about it. - Reply to this comment
- My youngest daughter says she is an atheist, but she wears a belt that has a picture of Jesus on it, AND she has a tattoo on her chest of the "Sacred Heart".
She''s a little weird. - Reply to this comment

That''s probably me. I went to Sunday school when I was young, but never went to "church". My family isn''t really religious. Other than Sunday school, there was no mention of "God". I meant to send my kids to Sunday school, but it just never happened. I''ve started thinking that maybe Jesus was invented, just like the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.:) - Reply to this comment
- And, where does the Ten Commandments mention Jesus or offer an exemption for choosing "God''''s son" as your "God"?
Posted by tuckerndfw at 01:47 AM : Sep 11, 2008
It does''nt, but Jesus is confirmed as God''s son and as the only exemption from sin many times throughout scripture, any one having basic biblical knowledge would know that.
Its late and I,m going to bed. I will pray that may have your eyes opened to the truth. Goodnight! - Reply to this comment

So when did you become an atheist? What made you start doubting the bible? - Reply to this comment
- Ever read Job?
Satan is God''''s son.
Posted by tuckerndfw at 01:31 AM : Sep 11, 2008
Yeah, many times, Job remains faithfull even in the worst of calamities, chastising his "friends" and wife for encouraging him to deny God. You should read the end where God lectures Job about his majesty and supremacy. Satan failed to dislodge the faith of Job, but he succeeds at decieving many others who refuse God.
Btw, nowhere in the bible is satan refered to as God,s son, but satan is known as a rebellious angel who thought he could be like God. Of course he decieved himself into a lie, and was thrown out. - Reply to this comment

?????????, Even children in sunday school know the difference, you have exposed your real knowledge of the bible. "They shall be known by their words".- Reply to this comment
- Remember "thou shalt have no other Gods before me"?
Didn''''t say anything about Jesus.
Why would an all powerful deity choose to write a book to communicate his message to illiterate people?

Just after Jesus was baptized, the spirit of God came down on him in the form of a dove, and a voice from above said "this is my son whom I love, with him I am well pleased". God confirms Jesus!

- Satan is a liar. His own disciples accuse Jesus of being Satan. To which he gave some lame excuse about divided houses.
Posted by tuckerndfw at 12:35 AM : Sep 11, 2008
Yes satan is a liar and you have been duped into his lies. The disiples of Jesus never accused him of being satan, but they did confess that he was the son of God after they realized who he really was. Satan tried to tempt Jesus with promises of the world, but Jesus rebuked him saying "man shall not live by bread alone but by the word that comes from God". Two very seperate identities, Jesus is truth, satan is a liar.
The divided house verse was a statement given by Jesus to the pharisees to repudiate their assertion that he could not be the son of God.
And you say you know more of the bible than 99% of christians? satan is indeed a liar, as well as his followers - Reply to this comment
- rrrrright, resourses are free and nobody is starving to death. A billion or more don''''t get what is essential to sustain life, yet billions are wasted to smash test the proton. Meanwhile thousands starved or died from war. Mixed up priorities?
jankebenz: Scientists will scientists, just as farmers will be farmers, and the construction people who built this collider will be building something else. If this collider was not built, not a single additional person will be fed that we don''t want to feed. Conversely if we want to feed people we have the capacity do so, collider or not. - Reply to this comment

"by their words shall they known", "the fool says in his heart there is no God" Sound familar? - Reply to this comment
- Scientists are making a big mistake. They always look for answers without raising the true or real question about our existence. Before anything should evolve, it has to be created first! And the big bang theory is totally a flop.
If we look at the world we live in, we always find objects in pair. We do not need to be a scientist to figure out this matching game, these objects can be detected or interpreted by our senses - sight, touch, smell, taste, hearing and dreaming. And as you analyze deeper the evolution of all kinds of pairing, they always follow the seven laws of creation.
The Family Pairing theory tells us that before the birth of the universe, there are only two species that exist: the presence of something and the absence of nothing. From this duality or pairing, all things in the universe gradually came into existence, where even God is only a part of the evolution of creation.
"The universe evolved from nothing and something; and has most of this elemental duality until now" Sir Joey - Reply to this comment
- might as well enjoy ourselves according to our means.
And, if the bible is even mostly true, Jesus is Satan so all those who got raptured went with him straight to hell. So, not being raptured is a good thing, biblically speaking.
You remember how it felt before you were born?
That''''s exactly the way it feels after we die.

I thought you said you were well versed on the bible,
If you are then you should know that Jesus and satan are opposites, those who follow Jesus the son of God, live eternally in heavan, those who follow satan the deciever, rejected by God, also live eternally, in hell. The choice is ours. - Reply to this comment
- Check out you tube on Palin''s pastor telling Palin and the crowd his belief that "Alaska will be the last refuge for the true believers during ''End Times''. Scary stuff people. This woman could be the next POTUS with such ideas in her head. Doubt she''d pass a psych exam.

- Tucker, this is part of the mythology that was started by a charismatic movement back in the 1800s. I think it was Pentecostals. These are the folks you see on cable TV "speaking in tongues", handling poisonous snakes and pushing people back on the stage yelling "be healed", like Benny Hinn. It''s also the same group that Sarah Palin belongs to, so she''s big on "holy wars", dominionism (theocracy), "end times" rapture mythology and speaking in tongues. Just what we need in the Oval Office holding "the button", eh? A POTUS with a global death wish.
