Look at this way, if all humans lived in whatever god forsaken place in china that was decimated by earthquakes we would be near extinction. The same rule applies if something happens to earth as a whole, we need expand to secure our survival.

Without these types of research and development, you probably would not have your own computer, cell phone Ipod, etc. The list goes on and on.

The expected cost of invading Iraq is $6,500 per person in the US. that is $25,000 per family of 4. This mission cost less than $1.50 per person.

I know the knuckle-draggers would have us stop all science and refer to the Bible for all scientific knowledge, but it is not going to happen.

Third world nations have more big science projects than the United States. And we wonder why developing nations beat us in Math and Science. Just listen to the posts here. We are a nation of Democrats who ask "Whats in it for me?", "Does it put money in my pocket, Today?" The only science Democrats want is that which teaches our children how to have sexxx with men, women, farm animals and major appliances.

These are the kinds of accomplishments that show America''s true GREATNESS.

As for the cost- This mission cost every man, woman, and child in the US about $1.50. The Iraq war cost (so far) $2,000 for EVERY man, woman, and child. $8,000 for a family of 4 - SO FAR.
