Most car companies that I''ve dealt with don''t take responsibility for building your car after the first 36k miles or 3 years unless you submit to the racket of extended warranties.....even in recent times of desperation. And even with an extended warranty, car companies have the ability to deny responsibility for building your car in many ways.
Hence, when it comes to cars, I''ve learned to be my own mechanic for the most part, and thus with computers, I''ve learned to become my own geek. With that said, I still appreciate the fact that I don''t need to pay almost double for computer hardware just to run Windows, as opposed to MacOS.
And over the past 10 years, I''ve had minimal problems with MS and their products. I see no reason to blame MS for keeping me down... - Reply to this comment
- Rupert Murdoch, one of the biggist neoconservatives of the our time, is not someone I want tracking me and what web sites I visit. If anyone is building a data base on people it would be Murdoch. He has access to too much personal information as it is and has speard his hate through Fox News and other media outlets he owns. It was bad enough Mircosoft wants access to Yahoo. Yahoo will be one search engine I will not use now.

- Why are they worried about Yahoo and Google, they don''t care about the big oil companies controlling the prices on gas around the world?

- With that said, I''''d buy Apple''''s OS in a second, if they''''d quit the racket they have going with hardware manufacturers for their exclusive Mac systems.

All that stated bigjer, Apple in recent years has become more entertainment promotion oriented. I used to hold some of your views but out of frustration switched to Mac. While MS gives the illusion of an open platform, it''s a convoluted mess of junk comprised of a bunch of disconnected entities that blame each other for an inferior product. The consumer suffers. Imagine if one company did not take responsibility for your building your car. The transmission fails, you call who you think you are supposed to call and are deferred to another who then denies responsibility who then sends you to another number who won''t talk with you until you pay for customer support only to find that the payed customer support denies responsibility etc. ...it goes on. Microsoft made a few very rich at the expense of all of us who pay taxes to fund the universities who do so much of the development of the private capitalist system. - Reply to this comment
- There have to be some good european sites to use that are unaffiliated with any of these capitalist gluttons who take take tax payer funded intellectual property then turn it against the people for their private profiteering.

- Anyone that hates MS only does so because of the success the company has seen, and for no other reason. Quite frankly, they make the best entertainment OS on the market and THEY DON''T SCAM people like Apple does with their OS.
With that said, I''d buy Apple''s OS in a second, if they''d quit the racket they have going with hardware manufacturers for their exclusive Mac systems. - Reply to this comment

Now finally, a subject that you do indeed know something about.
But be careful, you risk being accused by your neocon peers of being "Anti American", "anti business", and a traitor to the conservative cause. - Reply to this comment
