Who comes up with these stupid ideas? What good will turning the lights out do? And, please, spare me the "we''re creating awareness" B.S.! Last summer Al Gore had his ridiculous "global warming" lovefest and urged people to take a 10 point global warming pledge. It hasn''t even been a year .... can anybody remember the pledge (without looking it up)? Can anyone remember even one part of it? All that concert did was help rock stars sell some more CDs, that was all. lol ... So, if you''re really, really that bored, turn off your lights and you can tell yourself tonight when you get in bed that did your part to save the planet! In reality, you did NOTHING but turn your lights out. Knock yourself out! LOL

Seriously... You really shouldn''t lump all republicans in the same boat. Really that is immature, everyone has their own beliefes and differences even if they consider themselves republican, democrat, black, white, man, woman, come on and get real. I for one am Republican, White Female who supports our military, doesn''t agree with Bush and Iraq, and I like San Francisco. Grow up and do not label all of one so called "group" into the same category of people in how they act and etc... do you seriously not think that there are no republicans living in san francisco.??? The people I dislike the most are people who judge me for being republican rather than getting to know me.

IKnowBest said: "When the earthquake finally (please) happens, I hope nobody lifts a *** finger to help." Again, San Francisco is one of America''s best cities. Its history of liberal anti-war activism may ocassionally spill over into politicial incorrectness, but its one of the SHINING examples of why our soldiers fight in the first place. Go there and see.

Of course, in Eye-Rack, they don''t have to plan these outages. The Eye-Rackies observe "earth hour" every day, thanks to the Americans destroying their infrastructure so the moron-in-chief''s cronies could get the contracts to rebuild it, as US taxpayer expense.

I don''t call myself a patriot - but I do call San Francisco a cesspool. Every single dollar of Federal money should have been denied that city after the disgraceful attack on the Marine Corps. Sell your bs someplace else - actions speak louder than words, and SF''s action are to *** on the servicemen and women of this country. Period. When the earthquake finally (please) happens, I hope nobody lifts a *** finger to help.

Organizers see the event as a way to encourage the world to conserve energy."

Best way to do that is REDUCE the birth rate! Less new mouths to feed means that many less cars on the road, that many less houses built, less pollution spewed, less utilities needed, less food and water needed.
Time to put a 10 year moratorium on births, eliminating all tax credits for having babies, and charge the parents the full costs for their kids- including schools and busing.

It''s amazing how many people always have something to b-i-t-ch about. It''s just because they are too lazy to do it.

This is about the most ridiculous thing I''ve ever heard of. So they turn the power off for one hour. Then they all power up at the same time and waste more energy getting powered up again, than they saved during that hour. Is there anyone out there that actually thinks for themselves and uses the common sense they were given? What morons!

"One of the last major cities to participate tonight will be San Francisco" - wow, who would have ever guessed. I''m surprised they can stop spitting on the graves of dead servicemen and women long enough to get organized to do this. I just turned on my outside house lights - they''ll stay on 24X7 for the next two weeks in response. Why isn''t the city council and mayor in jail yet? Praying for the day the earthquake finally wipes it completely off the map.
