If the poor would quit having babies, they wouldn''t have so much to worry about. Poor parents = poor kids who grow up to be poor parents, thus continuing the cycle. Only it gets worse each generation because they can''t have one or two kids, they have several. This not only feeds and expands the cycle, it puts a greater resource burden on everyone.

Hey Mr. Jim Fisher. Far right? Far left? I am in the middle and this is about Al Gore! He is the greedy nut that accelerated this ***. No offense but I voted for the punk and have hated it every since I did my homework and found that I had been an idiot for agreeing with it.

I for one will never pay a dime to Al Gore and his cronies. This sense of urgency come from the fact that we just had our coldest winter since 1969. One year of cold weather does not break this cycle but after viewing all of the real scientific data that is out there I cannot see how any logical thinking person could actually go along with this nonsense! Getting upset? Do your homework!! I used to be all about this global nonsense. What makes me more angry than anything is the fact that I used to believe it. For real answers go to icecap.us that is where real scientists discuss the matter.

The changes proposed by the environmentalist will cost the US many trillions of dollars over the next decade. It makes the cost of the Iraq war look like a drop in the bucket. That money will be better spent on helping the earth%u2019s poor to adapt. They cannot even afford energy at today%u2019s cost. How will they afford more expensive %u201Calternative energy%u201D?

More evidence is coming out everyday that proves the MMGW theories incorrect. Look up a petition originating from the University of Oregon signed by 19,000 scientists. This is one of many similar studies. Obviously the debate is not over.

Since 1998 there has actually been a slight global cooling as witnessed in global satellite data. 2007 showed the greatest temperature change in recorded history either up or down. It went down .67-.75 degrees GLOBALLY. Environmentalist will tell this is incorrect because they use temp records taken in population centers and they do not account for the heat island effect.

A warmer earth means more of the earth is suitable for growing food.
A CO2 level double of today%u2019s level will increase plant growth by 30% and plants will need less water.
CO2 is not pollution. Every living thing produces it and every living thing needs it. Most of it is created by the oceans.
CO2 still only accounts for .04% of the earth atmosphere up from .03% 100 years ago. That''s only a .01% change in the atmosphere.

So, the population is going to grow by 2 billion people. Do you realize how many dirty filled diapers that means? Talk about a polution that can be controlled. They can take my gas fueled car and wood burning fireplace and my electric lights when they pry them from my cold dead hands......chris3

hillaryin08:

Maybe you should go back and review the Bush legacy:

Eliminated science at every opportunity
Fought any meaningful action on climate change
Gutted the EPA and filled it with political appointees
Clear Skies initiative (allowing power plants to pollute more)
Healthy Forests initiative (allows more clearcuts and roads)
And the list goes on and on and on....

Yea, at least the US has the internal regulations. The Chinese, Indians and the rest of the developing nations dont adher to any standards inside their international borders. But it feels so good to blame bush doesent it?

However, I also don''''t agree with companies dumping polution into the atmosphere to save them costs on scrubbers, just as I obviously would not agree that these companies should be allowed to dump barrels of chemicals into water supplies or ditches somewhere and not get penalties many times more than the costs of disposing of the waste material and polutants properly.
