Uh, Mr. Prezedente Bush, Considering your record in the past of dishonesty, lying and all out f**k ups, can you just leave it be, I am afraid if you act in any way, whatever is on that satellite will spread 100 fold by some mysterious reason. HazMat, FEMA, NSA might as well get on the alert. Of course, we all know what is going to happen. They will fire a missile, the missile will miss and come down to earth and hit say Iran or maybe China, then all hell will break lose.

methane ( byproduct of B.S.) is highly flammable, cancerous, fatal to breathe, and is also something I wouldnt want distributed over a neighborhood. It sure isn''t stopping George and every other politician from distributing it all over the country

I heard they enlisted Cheney for this task. He can take anything down with a hunting rifle.

Compare this with the potential that existed for Katrina victims--and the lackadaisical "action" that ever did result, way later.
Bush wants to see if we can shoot down a sattellite--hes not worried about a handful of random people, if he were he would have behaved very differently with his actions around Katrina.
Its an OP disquised as "we do it all for you".

"..the satellite was launched in December 2006"

This is not a very long life span for a very expensive satellite. I guess we now know where some of that $500 billion annual Pentagon budget goes.

They wouldn''t be doing this unless they knew fairly well that it was going to come down on someone''s head. Hydrazine is highly flammable, cancerous, often fatal to breath, and not something you want distributed in large amounts through a neighborhood. They need this ''shot'' to work, or an entire tank of hydrazine is coming down, intact, on some neighborhoods head.

wouldnt you think if they spent that much money on it, they couldnt afford, or have the technology to have a self destruct device in case of an emergency. Maybe they should have went to Iraq and promised a suicide bomber the proverbial 72 virgins for a ride in space.

Can you imagine if they went "oops" and hit an Iranian satellite or something?

(CBS/AP) President Bush has ordered the Pentagon to use a Navy missile to attempt to destroy a broken U.S. spy satellite - and thereby minimize the risk to humans from its toxic fuel - by intercepting it just before it re-enters the atmosphere, officials said Thursday.
*******************************
Well the liar in chief is at it again. Toxic fuel my a**. Up until now we have heard about this satellite for weeks and the government saying, oh this is routine. These things come down and the risk to humans is minimal because of all of the open ocean and land.
For them to spend this amount of money to try and shoot down a broken satellite smells to high heaven. Of course with a liar and a wannabe dictator in the WhiteHouse, what do you expect. Disgusting.
