Maybe I''m a bit paranoid, but I cant help wonder if Georgie boy isnt trying to hide something. First off, it is a SPY sattelite. Second, When it re- enters the atmosphere, I would guess it would burn up, including the "toxic" fuel, after all they say it would only cover the area of 2 football fields, which to me seems really small compared to the earths surface. Third, They have repaired other sattelites before, why not this one especially if the technology abord it is so advanced. Who knows, maybe it has all the info on 9/11 on it, then everyone would know the real truth. Granted, the debris and toxic fuel could cause damage and/or personal injury including deaths, which is not a good thing. Maybe it''s like I said, me being paranoid, but I smell a coverup.

Something is on this thing they don''t want anyone to EVER discover, even if they are fragmental pieces of software or memory chips. The fact is they need this thing to thoroughly disappear before the people it is spying on sees it listed on eBay.

How gullible does our government think we are to think they are trying to save us from harm by destroying this? At least they could come up with a better lie once in a while or possibly try a novel concept... the truth.

Or could it just be the Neocons flexing their muscles...trying to show the world what we can do?

There''s obviously something on it they don''t want anybody else to have or see! And are we sure it''s OUR spy satellite we''re shooting?

How about just sending Cheney out on a hunting trip again, maybe paint a face of one of his friends on it.

Okay, that was bad, I know. Anyway, how about a Laser?
We gotta have something like that now.

is it possible that that spy satellite may have weapons on it that we are not suppose to have??????? if the space shuttle burns up into small enough pieces that we don%u2019t shoot it down why would such a little satellite need to be shot down other than to hide something???????????
if they an grab the hubble telescope and fix then why cant they grab the spy satellite other than they dont want no one to see it. it probably has weapons on it they aint supose to have

There is never any excuse for shooting and killing anyone. Having said that, I have noticed from history and what has been happening lately, that when times are bad and the economy is getting worse and worse, people tend to snap more and there seems to me more shootings. I can%u2019t wait for Bush to leave and for gas prices to get back to normal and for this worthless war to end.

I agree with the decision to destroy the useless satellite.

"This is the first time we''ve used a tactical missile to engage a spacecraft," Cartwright said.

I''m not so sure about that. The validity of the statement depends upon the meaning of the word "we."

"Sure andor3, the government is using the same missile they fired into the pentagon, Right?"

Firing anti-satellite missiles at the Pentagon? Never heard of that but it would make about as much sense as what they say here they are going to do and why.

The system was carried on a modified F-15 that carried the missile directly under the central line of the plane. The F-15''s guidance system was modified for the mission and provided new directional cueing through the pilot''s heads up display, and allowed for mid-course updates via a data link. The first launch of the new anti-satellite missile took place in January 1984. ASAT.
Been there , done that. Before some of you were born. Started in the 50''s.

McCain said, "I will answer all your questions one at a time just raise your hand" --- McCain cut & ran after only 1 question.
