Researchers Say Beating Rat Heart Created From Scratch Could Aid In Preventing Organ Rejection
- A Grand Challenge (Part 3 of 3)
We shall at last take control of our future, our fate, and ourselves.
No other endeavor ever attempted by humankind will require more genius, dedication, compassion, and sacrifice.
And no other endeavor ever attempted by humankind will be more vital to the continued existence of our species.
I understand that for many this may initially seem like pure science fiction. This is to be expected since the scales of the threats we face reside within the scope of what we have always considered to be science fiction. However, in reality, all of these goals are well within our technological reach. They are the quickest, and I believe only, way for our species to battle both the physical and societal threats that will continue to confront us.

- Please read The Hidden Face of God, by Dr. Gerald Schroder.
The words intricate or complexity do not do justice to the wonders of even the tip of your finger, and how it works.
The concepts of turning electrical pulsations of nerves into either images or hearing is beyond comprehension. Why would the first living cell be "created" or self created with a mechanism to reproduce ? Without that, it would not survive.
Why are there so many back up codes on the DNA for various proteins - much like a designer backs up code for computer program ?
Surely, there is more than chance. And why, just to start an internal dialogue, is there anything at all ??
Our experience suggests that as things progress there is a degradation (copies of copies degrade right !)only in "evolution" do complexity and perfection increase . Strange isn''t it.
As a scientist myself, I am always testing new ideas, and not in lock step with what I have been "taught" to believe. Name calling is a sign of deperation.

- Facinating. Good thing they don''t need stem cells, the research would be dead in the water.

- Kudos to these hard working scientists.
What this also shows is just how marvelous the workings of biology are. IF.... all of the most talented minds working on recreating what "nature" does so effortlessly, can do only(and this is a big deal) this in 2008, doesn''t that suggest to the rational mind (I too am well trained published scientist) a higher creator, or all things ?
One friend of mine was raised under China communists during Red Revolution, taken from his family, he then was selected by the godless state to be a DOCTOR. He told me--- that all the indoctrination of anti god teaching was gone, for him and all his classmates, once they looked in the micrscope and learned about the intricate nature of the human cell. There had to be a god, he told me, very matter of factly. - Reply to this comment
