"the usa has abortion and birth control and education" posted by terrorislam7

Yeah, well you sure wouldn''t know it. From the looks of things I would say the U.S. needs more birth control and a lot more education.

"China is the FIFTH LARGEST ECONOMY ON EARTH. How, exactly how, are they "poor"? " posted by SharnCedar

I was talking to someone from China a few days ago. They said that they actually hoped that people would stop buying stuff from China because the making of the stuff is doing great harm to their environment.

Also, if a toy costs $10, the American company gets $9 and the Chinese company gets $l.

China imposed a policy of allowing one child per family about 30 years ago, following a post- World War II baby boom.

Posted by terrorislam7 at 05:10 PM : Dec 15, 2007

At least they are trying to do something about their problems, what population controls do the U.S. have in place.

And what country did not have a boom in births after WW2.

I won''t buckle under to peer pressure. Iwill stand up to the relentless howls of those who seek to undermine the United States. Just because the Third World and haters of democracy and capitalism makes claims that this country is endangering humanity with carbon dioxide, it doesn''t mean that it is the truth and especially not that we have agree to terms that ultimately will spell our demise. It is great that the agreement made in this Folly at Bali does not stipulate specific limits or a scheudule for reducing emissions, but those who are against us now feel empowered even more to put us. They have a belief that, if they try hard enough long enough, the United States will agree to anything. Is this the lesson we want to teach our children. Do wish for the next generation that it is okay to concede against your better judgement. The Unites States has now conformed to Least-Common-Denominator thinking and we have turned as a corner, as the article states, but it is in the wrong direction. Is there any chance, this country can regain its ground and resist the temptation to follow the crowd? I hope so.

Next time this country participates in a climate conference, since me and I will not only resist the peer pressure, but I will state quite clearly why we will not agree to self-limitation, self-imposed reduction of growth and subject our citizenry to idiot proposals that do not serve our interests. I can be THE MAN, if no one else has the will.

"where are the negotiations to reduce global populations of over a billion of each the chinese, indian, latinos, muslims, and all others that like having large families"

Mormons like to have big families too, but since they''re mostly white I suppose that''s OK?

China is still enforcing its one child policy like it has for decades. You clearly are ignorant of facts like most right wing neanderthals. Oh, and you''re racist too, like most right wingers.

Ever heard of birth control? Why should we feel sorry for a country that cannot control itself?

Before you post , surely you should do at least the minimal research

China rigidly enforces population control, by limiting the number of children allowed

Another example of a denier desperately grabbing at anything, without checking the validity of what he/she posts.

Compare the population of China to that of your country, compare the living standards of the average Chinese person.

China has the 5th biggest economy in the world. they are the world''''s number one producer of greenhouse gases. But they are a "poor" natino when it comes to this ridiculous agreement. The 5th largest, out of 200 countries, is somehow one of the "poor" when it comes to following rules. It''''s like giving Bill Gates food stamps, or poverty tac relief. China is the FIFTH LARGEST ECONOMY ON EARTH. How, exactly how, are they "poor"? What dirty, filthy, infamous lies are the liberals pushing this time?

You are conveniently omitting one factor aren''t you.

Compare the population of China to that of your country, compare the living standards of the average Chinese person.

It is just so easy, to sit back and hypocritically criticize, if you do not take into account all the relative factors, particuarly if you are trying to protect a greedy materialistic lifestyle, that is in large part the root cause of the present climate change problem.

Uganda gets plenty of sun, making it a great spot for solar energy. There''''''''s only one problem: In one of the world''''''''s most impoverished nations, few people can afford an imported solar panel.

Posted by pepperwood2 at 03:36 PM : Dec 15, 2007

One of the reasons many of the world''s impoverished countries are so, is as a result of the so called developed nations ripping their hearts out, by taking from them all they can.

For example, the multiple millions being made out of Sierra Leone at present by the western diamond dealers, whilst the people of the country live on subsistence wages.
They could not afford solar panels either, and I am sure the Enormously wealthy diamond dealers, would not be willing to help in any way. The absolute majority of the inhabitants of these impoverished nations, would not have the smallest percentage of what you yourself have, nor that of what I have, and I do not consider myself wealthy, however the degree of wealth we all have is only relative, and relative to these people, we are enormously wealthy.

Let me ask the people here in Good Ole USA? What makes Kyoti, UN & Green Team, think that the average person here can afford the high cost of alternate forms of energy? Solar Energy just for one.

After all Big Oil & Big Business continues to make record setting profits each quarter & Al Gore receives special funding from those that have set him up as The Global Warming Guru.

The rest of us would like to do our fair share & be treated with dignity & respect.

I''''m serious! As a retired senior c, I simply don''''t have the luxury that Al Gore has been given of Free Gratus! All the rest of us have received during these debates is a generous supply of threats & innuendos.

We have learned a historical lesson: if you expose to the world the dealings of the United States, they will ultimately back down.

Hans Verolme, director,
WWF''s Global Climate Change Program

No doubt a statement all Americans are proud of, as it has a lot of truth in it, in this matter and others.

You mean like electing a man that the ENTIRE World conciders a Fascist for a Leader??? Would that qualify as extremist? We were ONCE a leader in the world, now we''''re looked at as people who must be drug, kicking and screaming to the table. God what a pathetic loser this President has been... ABSOLUTELY the Worst in our history.

Posted by MCVet at 11:15 AM : Dec 15, 2007

MCVet, I saw an internet poll this week that indicated GW will be remembered as a good president by the majority of the people. Sure GW can be hard headed and I definitely don''t agree with many of the things he has done, but yes WE elected him based on the information we had and he DID get the majority vote. Only the whining Dems keep crying. If Al Gore had been elected, industry in the US would have already pulled the plug due to Mr. Greens, environmental policies being too expensive to be reasonable. They would be even more deeply entrenched in the developing countries because they can run their facilities without worrying about their emissions cause the Good Ole USA would be taking care of it for the world like they are expecting right now. These so called "developing countries" are just like all the people over here wanting the Government to take care of them without having to work for a living.

In two years, Bush will be gone. Without a specific commitment, he will do nothing. Meanwhile though, two years will be wasted. When do you think we will have hit the point of no return? I believe we already have.

He will go down in history as being the worst president. I wonder how well he sleeps at night? Probably like a baby but his poor wife is probably so stressed she doesn''t sleep at all.
