This is not a liberal/conservative issue, but a moral one. Why is everything US vs. THEM with you people? Have you even seen the movie? Perhaps you should before you offer criticism.

I think I read somewhere where ALBore's inconvenient lie said sea levels would rise by 20', and the UN report said 18". I could be wrong about the exact #'s but the variance was pretty large.

Enought to make me realize that they're both full of global s*it!

The nutjob chorus still will not admit that George W. Bush is an incompetent boob beholden to the oil industry, whose administration is corrupt from the top down.

Goreless, did you know that you are immoral for not believing in Algore's position on this issue?

You better hope he doesn't run for pres and get elected. He'll put you in jail for your immorality.

Yes, let's re-elect the guy who created the internet, inspired "Love Story", and now, we learn, worked on Global Warming before it was even invented... I mean, discovered.

Gore is the biggest sellout of all time! Global Warming is a political agenda, and not a real issue. Gore is not a scientist. Why doesn't someone ask the scientists at NOAA about Global Warming?! They are the most educated in the world in this field of science. They will tell you that there are too many global weather variables to be able to accurately assess what's really the culprit. And for all of you uninformed people- Global warming is actually happening to all of the planets in our solar system right now! Yes, that right, about 1-2 degrees increase per 100 years, for most every planet in our solar system. So, how do we fight THAT? I certainly don't want an egotistical clown like Gore acting like he is concerned for our well-being. The fact is, he is only saying these things to build himself a power structure so that he can be a presidential contender and use his perceived power to control people that don't want to be controlled! Any organization that solely uses fear and anger to control their believers is pure Bull. With "Hollywood" giving him this award, it only proves that Hollywood is another organization that is using their power in the world to brainwash uneducated "believers". Why don't we all learn about these issues independently and in an unbiased manner, and become more responsible for ourselves, rather than worry about what everyone else is doing. Don't believe in the "Do as I say, not as I do" losers, like Hollywood and Gore.

(Actually, I remember global warming being discussed in my junior high school, around 1977. The first official consideration of the theory was in the mid-60s, by the National Science Foundation, I believe. The original, highly abstract, idea can be traced to Svante Arhennius, in 1896. (Philosophical Magazine 41, p. 237.)

(Of course, the empirical proof doesn't really start piling up until more recently. However, the British have been keeping weather records since the mid 1600s, and when they did a big retrospective of that data, a trend was clearly visible starting a long time ago...)

There were 2 things that stuck out to me:

1. The director guy said Algore has been working on this for 30 years.
Let's see... 2007 - 30 = 1977.
Didn't we call it Global Cooling back then? Algore must have started on it right after he invented the Internet.

2. Algore called this a "moral issue." So, in one comment he is saying anyone who dissagrees with the Global Warming Extremists is "immoral."
How Orwellian of Algore.

I simply hope that VP-Al Gore or should I say President Gore (he won, right?) does what he preached on that documentary.

Oh Puhleeze... You people who think it's Liberalpalooza have clearly forgotten how alcoholic conservative Mel Gibson swept the Oscars with Braveheart.

It's about who did an excellent job. I don't believe "A Convenient Lie" was nominated this year... Although our soldiers are apparently still dying for it.

He's a thoughtful, good man, who is not "in it" for personal gain. A few days after 9/11 my right leaning MIL said to me, "I'm so glad Bush won the election...can you imagine the mess we'd be in if he hadn't...." Those words really ring in my ears now. One can only imagine (and pine) for what would have been if Al Gore had been in his rightful place as president on 9/11, how history would have been different. But I'm glad Al Gore has had time to devote to a cause that is important to us all and one which he clearly has his heart and soul. Glad he's recognized for his work too. Bless you, Al. Congratulations.

In a perfect world Al Gore would be in his second presidential term right now. But he did give us the gift of this excellent movie. The Oscars are well deserved!
