- Are you guys still at it? Here's a quote I found in an article on retracing Abraham's footsteps:
lars008:
You seem to have the average knowledge a christian fundamentalist with access to the web usually has. While we're on the subject of the roots of deities, you should probably know ( I assume you don't) that its a fairly commonly accepted fact that the god of Genesis and subsequently the god of Abraham himself, and now uh.. YOU, was a composite entity made up from the pantheon of Mesopotamian gods originating from (as far back as we have gone) Sumer. YOUR god is simply the result of a bunch of pagan gods and their respective mythologies being jumbled together in the interests of uniting tribes. Yahweh certainly wasnt a compassionate god at all, he believed in sacrifice like every other primitive deity, the notion of a loving, caring patriarchal god comes from the New Testament. It was a big about turn. Its just like chinese whispers! Random stories strung together to make a whole.

- "singingrick, I have checked your web sites, and I didn't find anything in there even remotely persuasive. I also find it quite interesting that every time one cites reputable scientists and research institutes supporting evolution, you dismiss them as "Oh they are atheists, what do you expect" without refuting the hard science they present."
And even if they are atheists, so what? What do they really have to gain, in any practical sense, from trying to knock creationism (if that was truly their primary goal - which it isn't)? Do they gain money, adoration, popularity with hot chicks, what exactly? Why not give them credit where credit is due? They come to conclusions and develop hypotheses based on the data they acquire. Or do you think evolutionary biologists are Satan's minions here on earth? Perhaps someone should tell their wives. In reality biologists ignore creationism except when they are forced to confront it by evangelicals trying to get it taught to their kids in biology classes. - Reply to this comment

Yet you give us web sites written by religous groups, with the expressed purpose of advancing belief in the Bible. And their justifications fall in these categories:
1) Pseudoscience
2) Speculation
3) I don't really need to prove creationism. I just need to point out what mainstream science hasn't explained yet.
Sorry, that is not convincing, solid proof. Try again. - Reply to this comment

- "Oh yeah, and you still haven't explained why one bright morning, god woke up and though "All this family f.cking is getting on my nerves. I'll make it a deadly sin". Or was it more like "This family f.cking is sooo last century... Let's make a fashon change. Let's establish a new trend: we'll stone to death all those who sleep with their relatives. That should be fun!" Your god is so capricious, he's like a child. Even if at the end it turned out you are right and I was wrong, I am still happy I didn't waste my time worshipping such a moronic entity."
LMAO!!! You kill me! I asked him about this Cain incest idea on another CBS messageboard and to his credit he did acknowledge it. But he also didn't explain why God changed His mind. Never explained the multiple races originating from Adam & Eve either. - Reply to this comment

- "We must remember that the Bible was written by approximately 40 different authors over a period of around 1500 years. Each writer wrote from a different perspective, to a different audience, for a different purpose. We should expect some differences!"
I thought the bible was written by god, who should remember what he told one guy to write, so he doesn't tell the other guy to write something different later on...
