tucker

You reinforce the point made in Crichtons book. Worst case scenerio by the most radical predictions the ocean would rise a few (maby 6) feet. All of Arizona is considerably above that elevation.

Again - before you believe "Global Warming" read

Michael Crichtons "State of Fear"

He footnotes his information so you can check it for yourself.

He makes the point that "Global Warming" is hype and a secondary point he makes in the book is that we really do not understand the science of climate change enough to make the pronouncments that the Glodal Warming "experts" make.

Again an interesting book (it is fiction) and the factes that he ststes in this book are footnoted. So far all the facts that i have checked are true.

Just read the book

Here is some real good advice for people living in arid regions, such as California, Arizona & most of the American southwest.

RELOCATE NOW.

Just thought I'd pass that on so people can beat the rush.

Of course the earth is warming up. Climate is cyclical and we have been entering the "hot age" that is opposite the "ice age."

A few million years from now, we'll be in another "ice age" and everything will be okay.

Maybe humans will someday come to understand that our presence and domination of the earth is very short lived and is cyclical. Some humans will manage to survive, but they won't be driving SUV's and living in 10,000 sq. ft. houses.

Also - before you believe this conferences report - read"

Michael Crichton's book "State of Fear".

While the book is fiction he footnotes a lot of his facts and so far all the ones I have looked up are true.

The thrust of this book is that "global warming" is hype and he makes an interesting case for it.

Yep - the same guy that wrote "Jurrasic Park"

Again he foote notes the facts in his book and they are interesting.

They can't define neocons because Howard Dean hasn't told them what it means yet.

Over 17,000 scientist have signed a petition against adopting the Kyoto Protocal and and this site contains a research paper which disproves global warming is caused by man. They have included charts and graphs showing the various heating and cooling periods that the earth has gone through and they show we are cooler now then period just before the little ice age.

Before you fall lockstep inline with what certain factions in our society will have you believe about "Global Warming" look at what others in the scientific community have to say before you make up your mind. You may find there is more to the Global Warming theorists agenda than cutting greenhouse gasses.

Reagan and his money-grabbing contemporaries claimed that airbags would ruin the auto industry. This is how we got those messed up motorized shoulder belts. But airbags sell, in fact safety sells.

Enough people will pay to be a part of solving the global problem (or so goes our only hope). The factions that claim it's bad for (their) business are just taking their place in the food chain.

By the way, neocons should read their leadership's manual, How to Serve Man, ("It's a Cookbook!!")...

The national academy of sciences reviewed every published, peer-reviewed, scientific, study done on Global Warming in the last ten years. 100% of these studies agreed on three things:

1.GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL

2. THE CONSEQUENCES OF GLOBAL WARMING WILL BE DEVESTATING TO ALL LIFE ON THIS PLANET

3. GLOBAL WARMING IS CAUSED BY MAN

The scientific community has been united on this for years. The so-called debate is just a misinformation campaign funded by the fossil fuel industries who stand to lose a lot of money as we switch to more sustainable ways of living.

This is not a political issue people. It's an issue of survival.

A few scientist in the 70's were picked up by magazines and the media to puport their ideas of a coming ice age and stifle capitalism.

A few scientist in the 00's were picked up by magazines and the media to purport their ideas of global warming and stifle capitalism.

A few scientist in the 2030's were picked up by magazines and the media to purport their ideas of temperature stability and stifle capitalism.

It will go on and on and on. Like the old saying, "There's a sucker born every minute".

The report is only significant if someone pays attention to it and learns from it. These scientist that published the report are talking about centuries down the road. People there won't be centuries to worry about this warming. These same scientist are amazed at how quickly all of this is taking place. Al Gore started talking about this a while ago but he is a Democrat and he is lying and leading people to hell in a handbasket. That is according to the people in power at the time. It is real and it is man-made. Anyone can look to the skies in a highly industrialized city and you will be able to tell where the polution is coming from that is causing this effect.

Notblue, you are correct. No one is saying we shouldn't do anything. Only a fool would continue to smoke even though we know the consequences of that behavior.

If we can all do a little something to help out, I believe we should. I think it's our obligation to future generations.

What I disagree with are the whacked out lefties who want to suppress capitilism and our very way of life in order to bow before the alter of world opinion. That's why Kyoto was voted down.

Don't worry about global warming, George Bush in his ultimate wisdom has that covered also!

The nuclear winter resulting from him starting world war three will reverse the impact of global warming and the impact of humans on this planet.

Update: I just read where NPR only interviewed the climate scientists who would blame global warming on man.

They passed on the ones who disagreed.

That's the intellectual honesty and science you get from the left.

Carbon dioxide is the primary gas being targeted for the increase in warming. The number one cause of carbon dioxide emmissions in the world is human and mamal exhilation, ofcourse that point is never mentioned by the press because it would require worldwide population control. The reality is that no matter the cause whether it be hiuman intervention or normal climate cycles we humans have very little control. Mother earth takes care of herself and will continue to do so. A better plan may to prepare for the resulting events as bast us humans can.
