My side is simply trying to point out the facts that global warming has happened before us and before big oil and will continue whether or not we are here.

You still haven't mentioned if you live a oil free lifestyle.

"So again, huskerarmy, you could not possible use any oil or anything related to oil since it is so bad and is destroying everything and of course started global warming with the help of Bush."

We are all responsible. Your side is the only one denying responsibility. This isn't a football game where you pick a side and root for it regardless. This is serious and we can't afford the price of convenient denial just so those who are able can continue to exploit the earth to their hearts content. It's really rather ridiculous, even childish, to think that we can do whatever we want to the earth indefinitely and it will never have any consequences.

That's the problem with you reactionaries. You're spoiled! You're always trying to have it both ways. And you want it all. You believe what you need to so as to justify what you want. It's about greed and immediate gratification.

Al Gore, the guy who invented the internet, could not be wrong about global warming, it IS all big oil and Bush's fault. Who else could have started global warming it could only be the fault of Republicans.

"but the scientific proof is not there yet to show human activity caused the problem"

To borrow from your side, "the proof may come in the form of a mushroom cloud." There is no proof that the Easter Bunny doesn't exist. There is no difinitive proof of evolution or gravity. But there is empirical evidence. And there are ulterior motives. Those who deny global warming are motivated by the mother of all motives... profit! Grant money aside, there is no comparison. In the final analysis, it's a matter of odds. But in this case, you aren't going to get the points for siding with Big Oil.

We may have altered the climate to an extent that will either wipe us from existence or at the very least will cause an unprecedented change in the way we think and do things.

Okay, lets get serious. If you want to read about what's really going on with this GW/Climate change, go to junkscience.com After reading about a page of those thoughts and statistics, you'll feel like you are still in kindergarten.

It was bound to happen. Don't we tell children that when they play with fire they will get burned ?

We may have altered the climate to an extent that will either wipe us from existence or at the very least will cause an unprecedented change in the way we think and do things.

The first assumption seems much more likely. When the threat of global warming is added to nuclear war scenarios and combined with the ever-increasing degradation of environments, we may truly have come to the edge of the precipice..

As Greenpeace recently proposed, "It is not too late". Although many people may tend to think otherwise, we still have a chance to change the bleak scenarios that await us if we go on as usual.

We need a fundamental change in the way we think, and that change can only come from each one of us. To expect world goverments to solve problems that we have caused by the way we think is like expecting president Bush to start thinking. You and I are all responsible for global warming, as well as all of the other nasty conditions that our presence has generated.

There is only one way that will save us from ourselves and that way reads as follows ? The more we take care of each other, the more the Earth will be able to take care of us"

Any comments....

Yeah, it's warming. It's warmed up a whole 1 degree C over the last 50 years. It has done it before, going back to medieval times. It's doing it now and it will do it again.

It's a lucky thing those people sold their trailer park in Fla. in time, huh? (for what, $100 million?) pretty soon that beautiful beach is going to be for scuba diving. Talk about timing.

It's mostly a "feel good" situation for these GW screamers. Some pointy headed scientist told them that WE are at fault for (cyclical climate change) so they point at who they think is the cause. "It's you, you're the one, you and your SUV."

But huskerarmy, that's the point. Intelligent people can see the empirical science that the earth's climate is warming (we don't believe the world is flat like y'all try to insist) but the scientific proof is not there yet to show human activity caused the problem or that government-oppression of human activity will solve the problem. There is just as much evidence that the whole thing is a normal cycle of the planet (evidence y'all must ignore to believe as you do) and we should be preparing for it either way instead of trying to blame the victims.

If you actually read what I wrote you would know I was not denying global warming I am denying the claim that it is entirely man made as the scientist suggest. The facts that I included disprove that claim.

I suppose you walk everywhere and have no need what so ever for oil.

aardbear:

What does a hybrid horse have to do with Armageddon? :)

It's more like twenty years but there will be regional flare-ups across the planet and in this country. Most will be conflicts between those who have real (not PC) liberty and those who don't want them to have it or exercise it (and I'm not singling out the Islamofacists as the current Facsist-in-Chief does). A few more steps have to be taken on the march towards Orwell's "1984."

Wonder how much damage was done by 113 scientists traveling to Paris? How about Al Bore as he navigates the world selling his GW fear?
I'm expecting all of you lefties to cut back on your CO2 production so I and my consumer driven friends don't have to.

O.K. righty. At least be consistent. If you are going to deny global warming, stop cherry picking bits and pieces of the science so as to disprove the rest of it.

"Look at all the grant money that would be lost if global warming was not a scare."

And look at all the billions to your Oil and Gas patriarchs that stands to be lost if global warming was to be taken seriously.

Everyone seems to miss the fact that history disproves the paid scientist, who were forced to agree with everyword in the report. They are trying to tell us that global warming in man made and coinsides with the industrial revolution.

A careful examination of the climate record reveals that Europe experienced a prolonged warm period known as the Medieval Warm Period (hereafter referred to as MWP) between the years 600 and 1150, cooling of the climate between the years 1150 and 1460, a brief warming between the years 1460 and 1560, followed by dramatic cooling known as the Little Ice Age (hereafter referred to as LIA) between the years 1560 and 1850.

That would be one example. The global warming fanatics are just that, they leave in what they want to hear and take out what will hurt their cause.

Look at all the grant money that would be lost if global warming was not a scare.

We will not kill the earth the earth will kill us just as it has done to species throughout history.
