To the people who oppose this measure, let me see if I understand your reasoning correctly:

A man has NO right to control his own body, as long as he's an infant... but at some point (is it age 16? 18? 21? or when he's achieved fatherhood? or some other criteria?), that same man now DOES have a right to control not only his own body, but also the bodies of other people...? No wait, only if those other people are boys, but not girls...?

Whereas a woman HAS a right to control her body, even as an infant...? but when she meets some criteria, then she can ALSO control the bodies of boys... but not girls?

It all seems pretty twisted to me.

Thank you. It's sexist and ageist. Parents affecting their will and pleasure over their newborn baby boys = ageist. Parents protecting newborn baby girls yet slicing and dicing their newborn baby boys = sexist.

The biggest supporters of intactivism and anti-circumcision movements are Jews. They don't want people imitating their customs and beliefs. To do so waters down their religion. They want to be different. They want to be set aside. That's the whole point of their religion. Christians are not supposed to get circumcisions because it would nullify their beliefs in Christ and His sacrifice.

I know it's rude but good for him. If he was protective about his own body as much as she is of hers he would have divorced her instead of going through with it.

Some guys are obviously perfectly ok with it done as an adult but to buckle under bullying is not the way to go.

There is a big difference between getting it done as a baby and getting it done after 18. A baby doesn't have to deal with the massive expansion that occurs after puberty. The massive expansion makes healing slower and more painful.

Good, that means a man will think long and hard before mutilating his sex organ. I don't suppose you have heard of Vicodin or Procaine anesthetic suave? If cowardice keeps a man from acting stupid then I say he should be thankful for his lack of nerve in this regard. There is absolutely no benefit of any kind to be derived from circumcision
which cannot be obtained with liberal application of soap and water.

I'll make it even easier. You can't murder, rape, or cut off pieces of your child's sex organs. Your rights end where the rights of others begin. I am 100% pro choice. You talk about personal choice yet neglect the fact that newborn baby boys are not given the choice for themselves when they are finally able to. By taking away that choice from them you are saying that they will never be able to make that choice in a responsible way. By giving that choice to another human being based on lies (e.g. it prevents HIV) or pure aesthetics you are saying that it is ok for others to change and manipulate healthy human beings to create designer babies just like the Nazis.

Don't forget the financial kickbacks doctors get - fee-for-service. Don't forget where a portion of those foreskins go - sold to research companies and cosmetics companies. Don't forget the people that want this in place. The same people who want female genital mutilation banned yet male genital mutilation upheld are feminists and sexists. Think about it. The people who believe that parents should have the power to do ANYTHING to their child are ageist and are probably strict religious conservatives.
