Read "The Stand" by Stephen King it wil make you feel a lot better about the H5N1.

It took me a long time to get over that book. Actually, that isn't true, I still haven't gotten over that book. When someone coughs or sneezes, I still stop and think about it.

It's just a matter of time before something like that really happens. King can get a little twisted at times, but it is more than possible for something like that to happen. It's not "IF", but "WHEN".

If its true that we overreacted, it was, as always, led by the media. Jumped on, reported to death on the 24/7 news, hyped up, words of fear added by those hacks who know the least, and then pumped in to the conscience of Joe Citizen (who is already not too smart at the best of times). What did you people expect.

Obama to be prayer day no-show

President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning.

All Mr. Obama will do for the National Day of Prayer, which is Thursday, is sign a proclamation honoring the day, which originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in May for the observance.

They are trying to warn us.

Posted by janieanddeb at 1:35 PM : May 6, 2009

It's one thing to warn people, but quite another to bombard them with cr*p to the point where they are scared to death. Of course for some, that is the only way they hear something. And for others, they won't hear anything no matter what is said.

You can warn people by just stating the facts of what is going on, and how they can prepare themselves. Yes, washing the hands and carrying hand sanitizers is very important. The problem comes when you have a constant bombardment of never-ending stories. When people become too scared, they turn off. They don't want to hear it. They will deny it.

It?s the eventual apathy created by sensationalism that is the true litmus test.
