I started out by having a friendly conversation with mrcrosby. We have talked before and have had nice talks. I've always known that he has different views than me, but that's okay. There are many people on here that have different views than me, but we get along great. mrcrosby and I don't normally don't talk long though. But this time we did and he ended up making that comment about Mexican women and saying that all the illegals were trashy. I don't like lumping people together. I look at people normally as individuals. When someone makes a racist comment, I'm sorry, but I won't stay quiet. I don't make a comment about every racist comment I see, but I did him, because I was carrying on a conversation with him. It was actually a shock to me to find out that he was a racist. Anyways, I was mostly reading his posts to me and wasn't paying a lot of attention to others. Slownewsday also said he was being racist.

Irishwench took it upon herself to interfere because she dislikes me. We had a run in before where she accused me of saying it was alright to beat children. Which wasn't true. She ended up apologizing to me, but at the same time was still accusing me.
She came after me again the other day and when I responded, she never bothered to return and answer me.

I know that some people dislike it when I say stuff about the guns and health care etc. and so they feel they need to come back at me. It's human nature to be defensive when people say stuff. I don't care if people don't agree with me, I can take that. But I do not like it when people accuse me of saying something I didn't.

I think when it comes to mrcosby and Irishwench, it's all about getting even. mrcosby for calling him a racist and Irishwench because she doesn't like my view on things.

"....How the hell did 60 confirmed cases of a freaking flu bug turn into a pandamic event?..."
Rowdy108

Fellow citizen, although we rarely agree, this is a reasonable question. And it has been asked by many on all sides over the last few days. So I did my best to answer it via multiple different posts. Hopefully the one that follows (my most recent attempt) with references to credible scientific sources will explain it.

In short, we are at the beginning of a serious epidemic, and many others and I are trying to stop it from becoming a pandemic which will threaten us all. So please read it with an open mind, for I think you know that by now, even if we disagree, I am against no one, and in fact am in favor of the peaceful coexistence of as many of my fellow citizens of the earth as possible.
ST

"Fellow citizens,

Earlier I posted warnings about the dire situation the swine flu contagion we are experiencing presents. These posts were mostly met with legitimate doubt and disbelief, and of course with some of the normal derision to be expected on a relatively free forum such as this.

For those with legitimate doubt and disbelief, I apologize, because in retrospect I shouldn't have made such extraordinary claims without some credible evidence for my warning. So I've spent some time gathering evidence that all can view, and judge for themselves.

For the most part the objections to my warnings fell into the two categories of simple disbelief that what we're facing is potentially as catastrophic as I believe, and questions of why no US deaths have yet been reported.

So I have found and referenced reliable documentation for my claims from the Los Alamos National Laboratory for evidence of the virus's potential rapid spread and contagion, and an article detailing research from the University of Wisconsin to explain why it mostly kills those between 20 and 50, instead of the very young and very old.

The point of my post is simply to convince as many as possible that they must call their governors and demand the immediate imposition of social distancing, which means the temporary closing of our borders, schools, businesses, public transportation, and a request that as many as possible stay in their homes. While this is indeed an extreme response, I believe the evidence I will present justifies these measures. And I apologize for the board space that this post will take, but I will only post it once, and reference it thereafter for any further discussion.

So first of all, let's see why I believe this virus, which while called the swine flu is actually a combination of swine, avian, and human influenza, is likely to spread to unacceptable levels without prophylactic (this means before infection is detected) social distancing.

If you go to "http://www.lanl.gov/news/images/avianflu.shtml" you can view three successive pictures of the Los Alamos supercomputer Pinks simulations of the spread of an airborne avian virus over 130 days, introduced by only 10 infected persons in LA, without prophylactic social distancing. These pictures represent the best we can hope for if we use travel restrictions, anti-viral drugs like Tamiflu, and limited social distancing after the detection of infection. The second picture (90 days) shows the best we can hope for.

The link at the bottom will show a Quicktime video of what we can expect with no action at all. If you can't view Quicktime then you can view the same video at "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htnh7pBBtrM"

For an explanation as to why no on has died yet in the US, you can read the article at "http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/17/AR2007011701113.html" for the University of Wisconsin's Spanish Flu study.

This article explains what can best be characterized as "Immune System Shock" where mature immune systems attack our bodies as much or more than the virus, and why young and old immune systems, because of their inefficient response, do not. This explains why we haven't yet experienced any deaths in the US, because so far the infected have been mostly young.

Fellow citizens, I have gone to this great effort to inform you not because I want to panic anyone, but so I can inform you of the truth we face, in hope that you will contact your governors so later panic will not be necessary.

My greatest hope is that you, and all those you love, never suffer, and never die such a horrific and needless death."

The above statement was made by mrcrosby. Are you saying that some might think that I made that statement?

mrcrosby was the main one that was calling me a racist. He was calling me a racist because I called him a racist. He also believes me to be racist because of my views about Americans and their guns. : )"

Yes fellow citizen, I'm saying that I sincerely couldn't find anything you said that was racist, and in fact found many things you said that made me believe you were not a racist. It seems to me that when you condemned the post made by mrcrosby some may have thought you were supporting it.

I also sense that you are now a bit worried that anyone who addresses you is trying to entrap or trick you, and I am not. I'm honestly trying to figure out what happened so I can know your true beliefs.

And at this point, unless you tell me otherwise, or someone can reference a post you made that was racist, I think you have been unfairly characterized. And if so, I will let my friend IrishWench and others know they were wrong.

I am on the side of truth fellow citizen. And IrishWench, and others, and I have had disagreements and reconciliations in the past. Sometimes because I was wrong, and sometimes because she and others were wrong.

So I just want to know what went on, because it doesn't make any sense to me.

At this point, I think you have been unjustly accused.

And yep, I don't lie...not once have I made a statement I can't backup with facts.

Posted by Rowdy108 at 11:11 PM : Apr 28, 2009

Ok, now that is a lie and there are many that will agree with me. I see comments all the time asking you to back up stuff you say. And I see them asking why you have run away when asked to back things up.

"and like I said I'm not here for some moronic junior high school queen of the prom popularity contest."

Well you don't have to worry about EVER winning a popularity contest, cause that just ain't going to happen. The only reason you come on hear is to badger, attack, rant and rave.

Being friendly and having nice conversations with people must be completely foreign to you, huh?

And there isn't one time when you have confronted me with your so called facts that it hasn't been an out and out lie.

"This entire episode is just another Black Op of the Reich Wingnut Neocon Nazis, designed to allow the Imposition of Martial Law in the US, and subvert the Constitution and Rule of Law..."

Fellow patriot, I disagree. This epidemic is real, and the worst natural threat to humanity since the Spanish Flu. And you know how much I despise Bush and his crimes against the Constitution.

A virus doesn't care about our political or personal beliefs, nor will our beliefs protect us, our children, or the ones we love. Neither does a virus pick its epicenter of contagion based upon our beliefs, its epicenter is determined by the brutal and dispassionate hand of nature.

So I hope we can cease fighting over issues which do nothing to protect, only distract.

For if we cannot come together as a people to fight a disease that threatens us all, then we certainly will not find ourselves together on issues of less importance in the future. And if we must lay blame, than each of us need only look down upon our own feet, for we have failed, despite decades of warning, to even attempt to conquer such species threatening illness.

So here are some words of warning, and practical precaution.

The epidemiology and mortality rate of this virus remains unknown because Mexico, the epicenter of the contagion, does not have the infrastructure in place to accurately monitor and report them.

However, by the end of this week these facts should be known because countries with more effective and coordinated health care systems will have determined and calculated them.

My recommendation then, out of an abundance of caution, is that any who can stay home from work this week do so, and that at least we do not send our children to school, and keep them home, and away from all other social gatherings.

The type of virus we are confronting here can be very contagious and lethal. However, no matter what its level of contagion, what we are looking for now is its mortality rate. And until we know that, great caution is warranted. It could turn out to be in a range considered normal, or it could be very high. We just don't know yet.

In this situation, I don't care about anyone's politics or personal beliefs. I just want us and our children to remain healthy and happy.

So please, heed my warning. The CDC cannot always give such direct and logical advice because, along with fighting disease, one of its primary goals is to prevent panic when an epidemic does arise. So don't panic, just be extremely cautious, and let's wait until we can see exactly what we're fighting before making any further decisions.

Fellow citizen erasmus111, since the board is quite I've been going back and trying to figure out why people are claiming you are racist, but I couldn't find anything.

However, I wonder, was the above post misinterpreted as your opinion, instead of a rejection of anothers racism?

I honestly don't know where this accusation of racism started, and if you are then I would certainly reject it. But I'm wondering if a post was misunderstood.

And please know you can tell me the truth, and I will not attack you for it. If I disagree with your position, I will simply try to reason you out of it.

Actually I could care less whether anyone likes me or not. I have a few people on here that I consider friends, and that's all I care about. Do you have any friends at all? You are one here night and day, I guess you don't.

That's because Irishwench is a classy lady who doesn't solicit internet intercourse by talking about her boobs and underwear and she doesn't invite strange men to visit her to check out her boobs and underwear.
Posted by Rowdy108 at 10:55 PM : Apr 28, 2009

You are actually quite a disgusting person, aren't you. Do you ever NOT tell a lie? I have never asked anyone to check out my boobs or underwear. I have however had someone ask me about my underwear. I have no control over what they ask me.

Yeah she's classy alright. That's why she attacks people for no reason and tries to pick up all the guys? Joe, masses.....? And all the real winners too. : ) Wait.....those are your friends, aren't they?

What's the matter, erasmus, you can't get any slap and tickle games going tonite on the internet....is that why you're such a crabby appleton? What happened did Weeda hide from you under a different nick name again?
Posted by Rowdy108 at 10:52 PM : Apr 28, 2009

I've come to the conclusion that you aren't capable of carrying on a normal conversation with people. What happened to you in your life that has made you a miserable person?

And "weeda" doesn't hide from me. If I don't recognize him, he gives me hints so I do.

I think what your problem is is that you can't stand people actually having a friendly conversation. To you a normal conversation is ranting a raving and ATTACKING people.

I now for a fact that everything that you have said to me is a lie.

And the fact that you accuse me of playing slap and tickle with all the guys when I am just conversing with them is actually quite funny. In fact, it makes me wonder what your relationships are like if that's what you classify it as.

And I notice you don't accuse Irishwench of playing slap and tickle with all the guys and she seems to have all of them on a string. Hahahaha.

Everyday I am accused of being a Liberal or whatever, on here. It seems like everyone on here labels everyone as a conservative, liberal, Muslim, whatever. I figured I had just as much right as the rest. : ) I usually avoid labels because here we don't do usually do that. But when I see someone that is a racist, I say something.
