I doubt that most people that abhor this decision are really that concerned about the real issues, but need to keep their base inflamed so the dollars keep flowing to their cause. Their argument that it promotes promiscuity is absolutely hilarious. That their base buys into it proves the shallowness of their argument. It has been shown that the morning after pill will stop the egg from implanting if it has not already done so. If it has, then the women has other decisions to make. All it is at that point is a fertilized egg; to equate it to a person is such a stretch. It technically has not even begun the journey.
What this is really about is religious fanatics (much like the Taliban) trying to force their moral and scientific beliefs on society. They pretend to cloak themselves in self-righteousness to bolster their cause. It is all fake. It is about control. It is about showing superiority over others. In a way it is mental and, at times escalates to, physical abuse. It is a fear that if a women can stop a pregnancy prior to it starting that abortion will become even less frequent robbing these people of the biggest issue that fuels their hate. Without abortion so many of the Prophets for Profit disappear and go bankrupt.
For those so stridently opposed then don't use the morning after pill, but don't try to stop others. Teach your daughters not to use the pill, but don't be surprised when they refuse to take your advice. All the statistics show your positions are lies. Women being allowed to control their reproductive health in the privacy of their home scares you. You need to get used to it!
You'd think the human race was on the brink of extinction the way some of these folks carry on. "Help! We need more people! Abortion is evil! Satan invented the condom! Unprotected sex for everyone!"
