I have no problem with people smoking as long as they do it away from non-smokers and any children or animals. In fact, if people are stupid enough to smoke then I am in favor of them doing it. Why? Because, on average, smoking takes 12 years off of your life. That means the people stupid enough to smoke contribute money to the Social Security system but don''''t live long enough to get any money back out. Non-smokers who live 12 years longer end up benefitting from their stupidity. So go ahead, keep smoking!

______________-

On the outside your comments make some sense. However, a smoker that lives past 65, becomes ill with cancer, COPD, dardiovascular disease, or other smoking-related illness becomes a "drag", pun intended, and a liability on the medicare system, not an asset.

I for one do not smoke.however there are many reasons people continue to smoke. The main reason is the addiction to nicotine,a very powerful drug that is even more addictive than crack cocaine.Yes many people have sucessfuly quit, but many more have tried and failed, because unless you smoked yourself,
you cannot understand the withdrawls symptoms of nicotine which are just as as powerful as trying to get off cocaine and even herion. To these people my hope is that they will one day dispite the struggle, sucessfully overcome their addiction and quit.

I quit smoking 5 1/2 years ago. It took me 2 years to do it, and was able to do it only because I thought I was having a heart attack and it scared me really bad. Smoking is an addiction - just as bad as heroin. The tobacco industry is murdering people, and it needs to be stopped.

When I see people smoking, it''s very sad to me. Having known many people who had lunch cancer (had being the word because they are all DEAD now) and seeing people suffocating to death, I will never understand how anyone can smoke. It''s hard to go into stores and walk past smokers. They really smell and it''s offensive. I''d rather smell B.O. which is horrible enough than that stench. Seeing unfit parents and grandparents smoking in the car or with their children; it should be criminal. Sickening. Grow a pair and quit.

boy, glad they have the tar and nicotine levels on the pack. Does that really matter? Smoking any cigarette is harmful no matter what the tar and nicotine level is. The fact they have to put any warning on these things just proves people in general are ignorant. WOW THESE THINGS ARE HARMFUL!! DUH!
