Feds: 1 In 8 Americans Struggled To Feed Themselves - Even Before Economic Downturn
- Rush just got through with a tirade on the radio about a report stating that the number of hungry children in America has increased by 40% in recent years. Rush claims that everyone in America are wealthier than they were several years ago and the only hungry kids out there are hungry for candy bars and regularly turn down fruit and veggies.
Rush is a major source of air pollution. What a MORON!!!! - Reply to this comment
- I wonder how many of these kids would be eating regularly if their parents didn''''t--
Buy alcohol.
Buy Cable TV
Buy drugs
Buy a car outside their budget with big payments.
Buy cigarettes
Eat out at restaurants too often.
Instead of buying food for the family?

Why don''t you try to find out, instead of sitting around wondering and making snide remarks? - Reply to this comment

- this is pure BS. There are no poor in America. The poor are in places like Africa, Bangladesh, the Philippines, etc. Who are these nuts in America telling people they are poor? They obviously are not very well travelled. Our so-called "poor" would be considered over-fed in those countries mentioned. Wake up, America, and be *** grateful for what you have. Disregard these nuts who tell you you are poor and starving.

- where I live we have lots of migrant workers
doing everything from cutting lawns, washing dishes to picking strawberries.
I''ve know probably known a thousand of them over last 30 years
watched many of their kids grow up.
Funny that doubt yet a single one of their kids, ever, had a single day in which they had to worry where their next meal was coming from.
sorry folks, but I''m not looking at Washington for the blame on this problem, nor the answer - Reply to this comment
- Another issue the drive bys try to blame Bush for. Funny how Reagan and Bush get blame for everything bad in this country. I have never seen on any TV news reports or read any newspaper accounts where some child died from malnutrition in America. Show me the obituaries from all these kids starving to death and then I might blame the parents not Bush or Reagan.

- And yet there are people(the religious right) who want to force women into having babies they don''t want! We can''t even take care of the kids we have in this country, what would we do with millions more, unwanted, children? It''s a sad reality, however, it is REALITY!!! Even if every religious couple took a kid to care for, and they should if they want the law changed, there would still be thousands to worry about. Especially if the religious right won''t even teach or even condone birth control!!
