To sun247: How do you KNOW Obama was born in Hawaii? Just because he said so? Why has he blocked access to his medical records and birth certificate? The document on his website is NOT a certificate of live birth and is missing many important registration numbers and seals. Maybe you should maintain a healthy skepticism rather than just accept what your candidate says as truth.

And to newster1: Dogs may not carry AIDS, but they CAN carry many other STDs and diseases communicable to humans. Many of them quite deadly, like cholera. Any animal capable of licking its own *** likely carries cholera to some degree. So you might want to do a bit of research on epidemiology before you go suggesting pets as an alternative. I think people would be better off choosing to "keep it in their own hands" if you catch my drift. At least then a little Purell will keep you safe. :)

So, the "moral" Christian lifestyle, while promoting all kinds of fun and a full life, does not expose youth to dangers like this.

Oh yeah, real "fun" just read about being required to STONE people to death for "infractions". Just get a good dog for a partner- male or female as preferred, and you dont have to even think about HIV/STD''s- they don''t carry any of the human STD''s like HIV, VD etc etc. No birth control needed either.

For all the religious types out there, $ex ed isn''t "indoctrination" at all. Its a boring, rote explanation of how the human reproductive system works, the risks (both social and physical) involved, and the best ways to go about it as safely as possible.

But above all they stress abstinence until you''re absolutely sure you''re ready for it and can handle the risks.

Its just like taking driver''s ed. They can give you all the technical information on how to drive well, but at some point you have to rely on the parents to teach their children personal responsibility. Without that you''re as likely to have a promiscuous child as a child who drives drunk head on into a van full of children.

Interesting! No parent contact is required to handout condoms to a child or offer abortion procedures, but the parents are involved in the HIV notification.

Listen, high school aged kids know the risks of HIV, either through IV use or intimate relations. The smart ones won''t get it. The stupid ones deserve it. A few are just unlucky.

Every high school is facing the same situation. Why is this such a big deal for this school?

HIV is a tragic disease. One''s life is basically ruined once acquired. Hopefully, a cure is on the horizon, but until then, everyone should realize it is the kiss of death.

DaVicar1-- I believe the Bible says we are all born of original sin....

but that isn''t really the topic here. My concern is for those teens (and their families) who are all going through hell right now. Like most of us, they are in our thoughts and concerns.

What everyone here seems to not grasp is there are already kids in every (or nearly every) school district in the US who are infected with HIV. Guess how it''s handled? Every teacher has latex gloves in his/her room and a code to call the office if a kid is bleeding. The teachers are never told if they have an HIV positive student, so they treat every single injury the same way - hopefully with caution. So, makes you wonder how many kids play football who are already infected with HIV. The "right to privacy" laws keep every single person at the schools and in the district ignorant of whether or not they have a student who has been infected with HIV. It''s the only way to keep teachers and other students from treating those infected as if they had leprosy (Remember Ryan White). The students of the other high school who considered not playing the football game have no clue that they may even have someone on their own team who has HIV.

Football - contact sport - bleeding - transfer virus. Who is being "ignorant"? Posted by gop_will_win

What are the chances that both players would be bleeding at the same time and their blood come into contact with each other? I would think the percentage of that happening are pretty slim.

You are saying a woman has to have secks with such a man? She has no choice? WHY IN THE WORLD would a woman want to do something like that? Posted by DaVicar1 at 12:17 PM

As usual, you don''t get the point. What I said was if a man didn''t tell a woman that he was HIV positive, how would she know. The couple could be married and he could be carrying the virus and not even know it. Too bad things have to be explained to you more than once.

Maybe in the future there will be other schools like this and they can form a special AIDS league.

I don''t recall seeing any indication that even ''one'' student was found to have AIDS or the virus that causes it. So far everything is allegation.
