My hat is off to the personal courage of the PETA undercover folks. To work there for months, undercover, hiding their identity and carrying video and sound equipment (certainly hidden!) and risking their own safety, even life by doing this is really admirable. If they had been discovered, they may well have ended up in some Hormel lunchmeat down the road....

This is plain sick. And cruel. The next time these workers are feeling under the weather, they should be beaten with metal rods and slammed to the ground like they did to these pigs. An eye for an eye may make the world blind, but in some instances it''s perfectly justified.

"Face it, WE ARE the TOP of the FOOD CHAIN! If the pigs dont like it, let them go out and invent firearms, cages, and gallows"- THE VICAR
No, no, vicar you are missing the point..Just because we are on the top of the food chain, why would someone WANT to act that way? Why flaunt your power to gratify your ego, or sense of god-like power? What''s the point of hurting a pig??
Failing to be thoughtful, failing to have self-control, failing to have respect for our place in the world.. this is hurting us in the long run..We are not at the very top of some pyramid dude, we are more like in a web.. Our actions and thought will bring consequences.. it''s life man.. There''s no reason to hurt animals, pigs are sentient, intelligent, mammals!
They might be tasty, but it is simply wrong to behave this way. They should be humanely killed with a stun gun to the head. Not beaten and abused for fun!

This is why I stopped eating meat. After becoming a vegetarian I lost a few pounds too. I am in my 70s and feel great.

CBS News,

OK, where is the link to the videotape of this sick abuse?? I just was at www.twincities.com and watched 4:43 of footage there from a news station. Why entertain us with horsecookie news about so much other non-news cr@pola and then not step up and be a real news organization when we need it? At least provide a link if you have no courage to do it yourself.

IF you did that, you would be assuming that PIGS and HUMANS are on equal level, which is really a VERY STUPID thing to assume.

I know your comments are usually somewhat tongue in cheek but if your comments on this story are an indication of your lack of respect for animals, I''ll take a pig over you for company any day.

This is why my family stopped eating any form of meat or poultry 3 years ago. Factory farming has got to go. It is absolutely inhumane. Factory farming causes us to get diseases and it causes severe suffering for the animals. Shut down ALL factory farming! Factory farming cruelty is unthinkable.

Unbeliavable!! we have a pet-pig and this is the most loving creature. This is sick! these people should be treated in the exact same manner they treat animals. Remember that fammous guy with the Pitbulls fighters...he is in jail, so should this person treating the pigs this way, this one too should go to jail.
I think people who work in Farms should before they are hired pass through psychological test. Farm job is for people who love country side and that way of life style...it is not for everyone or anyone.
I say this because my Father has a farmer where have many thousands of herds...and sometimes the staff there also doesnot have enough patient when a new baby calf is either sick or weak.
So, this farm job is for people who love what they do and not just there working to feed their families.

There have been times when I thought PETA goes too far but right now all I can think is thank God someone is there to look into this kind of criminal activity. I know where I''d like to put a metal rod right now.

PETA is a wonderful organization. They are all about the humane treatment of animals and are willing to put themselves on the line to do it. I pray that the owner of this farm is sincere in its effort to stop this madness. Many times I am embarrased to be part of the human race, and this is one of them. Pigs are smart, caring animals and don''t deserve to be treated this way.

Farm life is not Green acres & petting zoos-that meat at the market is not from sucides-many lost sight of the real world.

The human race will reap what it sows. And when we get there, don''t look for Jesus.
