So many post making jokes or smart remarks about a disease that kills both straight and gay people. One has to wonder what the bigger disease is, AIDS or Ignorance?

IRLiberal makes a convincing case for accepting the unnatural proclivities of queers and *****, and being somewhat open minded I would normally agree with his point of view. After all, if their way of life doesn''t harm others, what''s the harm in letting them enjoy their woofterism. However, there is the problem of "bridging groups" which means that the HIV endemic in the queer community is spread to the normal community. In that respect, queers are in the same, albeit lesser, category as Typhoid Mary. Logic would therefore dictate that if Typhoid Mary can be imprisoned for being a typhoid carrier, can we not also imprison any queer who indulges in profligate and unprotected s.e.x ?

I''ve been a Christian for 30 years and I''m ashamed of how many of us Christians decide to tell the gay person how evil he or she is for being the way they are. Yes, I agree the Bible does explain all this stuff. It has been going on forever. A man will get whatever pleasure he wants when he wants it and will not conform to a bunch of rules. Why can''t us Christians first point the finger at our own stinking sin, deal with our own rotten heart first. It is not our job to jugde the unbeliever, it it God''s. It is our job as Christians to judge ourselves first, share God''s love and truth with them, and then they decide. God never intended for us to follow the 10 commandments, but to realize that we will break them and need a Savior. The gay person realizes that if they give their heart to Jesus they will have to stop what they are doing. The good news is that Jesus changes from the inside of the heart, not the outside. In the past, when this particular community is mentioned in health ads or articles, there has been outrage for being singled out and made to seem like culprits. Now, there is outrage that this community is not mentioned, is being ignored. Good grief.

Is this article saying that g.ays do not know that they are at highest risk of spreading the disease? How can they not know that? It has been known for over 15 years.

Most g.ay and lesbian people have the courage to stand up to that hate, and we do. Some give into it, and begin to hate themselves. All I know is that I know who I love, and why, and there isn''''t enough hatred, bigotry, rhetoric or ignorance in all the world to change that.

As time passes, civil rights are being recognized for g.ay and lesbian people, and many of the old bigotries tend to fade. But there will always be a few, like some who post here, that will seek to destroy instead of understand.
