When you can''t remember what you said YESTERDAY, yes. When you spend most of your time trying to fight a War from 40 years ago, yes. Age in itself should NOT prevent a person from doing any job but for the President we have to have someone who age has NOT sapped of their abilities. We all know as you age some of the very important functions of the Brain and body start of fade, in the case of McCain those functions have faded VERY significantly.

"The main medical concern about McCain is not his age, but his history of melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer. If McCain is elected, Americans would have to get used to the idea of their president as a cancer survivor, closely followed by doctors for any sign of a recurrence."

Check that rather tumorous looking bulge on McSame''s left cheek. It may not disqualify him as a viable candidate, but it is so noticeable that the lack of comment and explanation of it does make me suspicious.

Age is not the problem for McSame, same for Mr. Obama.

Those of us who oppose escalating military misadventures that started because of Bush''s lies, and continue on that basis, those of us who see our treasury, and the economic security of our country being stolen by profiteers (what they used to call pirates), those of us who know and predicted that "trickle down" is a dismal failure, who see NAFTA as a sellout of our economy to slave nations, for the sole benefit of corrupt CEOs will reject McSame for these reasons, and that has nothing to do with age.

Those who think the issues raised in the paragraph above as a good thing will support McSame, for them, age is also not a factor.

We will oppose the McSame continuation of neocon-derthal policies no matter who advocates them, or the age of such idiots.

As I have said before, because I oppose such policies as the Republicans advocate, my vote goes to Mr. Obama, but if he should choose to pull a "Colin Powell" on us, he will find me to be a most bothersome and vocal detractor.

If too STUPID, ARROGANT, CRIMINAL, CORRUPT,

RED-NECKED AND GENERALLY LOOKING LIKE

ALFRED E. NEUMAN WITHOUT THE HALFTONE SCREEN

wasn''t a prohibitive factor

why should too OLD be?

McCane? I wouldnt let my great, great grandfather drive, muchless run the country. And whats with his stiff arms. Creepy, unless youre an old a$$ too. If hes elected (if the election is stolen for him too, seems to be the only way a republican can win) well be the laughing stock of the world.

In a word, ''yes.''

Blame the people who voted for him as their Republican choice in the primaries. They could have chosen a more youthful candidate. Perhaps they were all just doing so to ensure Obama the nomination and Presidency.

standlee5,

What about the bias the media has shown twoards Obama throughout the entire campaign concerning his race, religion just to mention a few. You can go somewhere with that BS. Simple fact is McCains age is not what we should be worried about. His lack of intelligence and smarts worrie me.

McCain is definately fit for the job. Too bad your failing so young, greybeardvet. The media is showing incredible bias by making McCain''s age an issue and not Obama''s lack of experience.

Many of the people who post here shows a diminished capacity, and I%u2019m sure that they are younger then McCain!

Age is not a way to gauge mental ability.

-At his age, not only he needs a sexxual stimulant, but a mental one as well. LOL!

-Being a veteran does not help either!. I mean this guy has been a prisoner of war. Anti-psychotics are greatly needed for bad memories resurgence, with all military responsibilities that match his position... I''m afraid he''d be too fast on pushing the nuclear red button!

I''m 71 and would never claim to have the physical or mental ability that I did twenty years ago. Even ten years ago my memory was much better and I was still running marathons. The move from 60 to 70 is huge and is confirmed by practically everyone in the world who knows that''s when we really start winding down. The medical folks who say McCain is healthy are not factoring in the extreme stress of the job and the fact that he is still recovering from cancer. Also, the actuarial tables do not say that John McCain will live to be 85. That''s a statistical average and half of the people his age will die before that, half after.

Hey standlee5! Saying it over and over and over and over again does not make it more true! Some Presidents were never Senators at all! Duh!

A better question might be; Is 143 days in the Senate Enough Experience To Be President?

72''s not old. If he''s in good health it shouldn''t matter. It''s like being 50 back in the ''20s.
