So, now the hospital has a multimillion dollar machine and addition they need to pay for. Is the cost divided up amongst the people who use the MRI machine? No, it%u2019s divided up among EVERYONE! The mom who had a natural birth, the family of the kid who stepped on a piece of glass and needed stitches in his foot, the little old lady with pneumonia and the psych case who needed a padded room; all these share in the cost of that new MRI.

I can%u2019t help but wonder how hard these health care facilities are trying to keep costs down. For most of us, we need to ask ourselves %u201Cis this expenditure really necessary?%u201D before we buy our new toys, add on to our houses etc. Maybe our health care providers need to do the same thing.

Case in point: A local hospital used to be served by a mobile MRI machine. The truck would come several half days a week and appointments were made to see them. If it was an emergency, they were taken by ambulance or helicopter to a larger hospital. It was decided they were going to get their own machine at the cost of millions and millions for the addition plus a new machine and now the machine and room sits empty several half days a week plus the people who are in bad shape still get medivaced out because their treatment is going to be more complex than the hospital can handle.

One of the reasons for the expensive American HealthCare cost is there is no Preventive Care since everyone and our Government cannot afford it. Every study prove that preventive care pays in the long run.

There is Absolutely no Investment for the Future of America.

Profit now and let the future generation figure out how to pay for it.

Capitalism got no Heart by design. Any HealthCare system requires a Heart or we get what we have here in America.

lovegetpeace, there is your top five of life expectancy. Wow, only one industrialized nation and that one, being Japan, is a country that has a much heathier lifestyle than the USA, i.e. eating better, (when was the last time you saw a fat Japanese person), exercise (wonder where Tai Chi came from), etc. As to the USA being at a competitive disadvantage, I wonder why we still are the top of the list in regard to GNP (gross national product since I thought that you might not know that)in the world. You really need to move back to that country you came from because I would hate to continue to have to see you suffer here in the US. By they way are you even legal, do you have a job that pays taxes, or are you one of the freeriders adding to the cost of health care.

Show me where illegals, and legal immigrants, don''t pay taxes. Don''t give me your assumption, show me data, it''s your claim.

[however there is a difference between moderate regualtion and taxes and over regulation and taxes.]
[Posted by tmcattack at 04:30 PM : Jun 17, 2008]

and that distinction will be based on where you stand. those that want unfettered profit will want no taxes/no regulation. those that want to be protected from those unfettered profiteers will want more taxes/more regulation.

there are many cases in recent history (last dozen years) where despite the regulation and oversight ... corporate greed and diregard for law has been rampant. so it would seem that a number of those in these seats of corporate power cannot be trusted w/ their current level of freedom and leeway.

the development of early communist and socialist idealogies are rooted in the abuses common to capitalist ideals.

Hey tmcattack,
I have to go. I want you to Think, Believe, Say, Write and Do exactly like the NeoCons for the past 13 years.

You are exactly the reason for:
1) Republican lost 3 Straight Special Elections in Republican Strongholds.
2) Since 1-Jan-2008, 3.6 million plus new Voter Registrations and 80% of them with the Democratic Party.

I am begging you please!

Hey tmcattack,
1) Illegals don''''t pay taxes because they can''''t have a social security number unless they are US citizens, unless they steal it, by the way which is one of the large causes of identity thief in the US.
Answer: You admit they do pay taxes. Capitalism requires and needs Undocumented Workers to make more $$$. That increase $$$ is pure profit compared to a documented worker.

2)lets see 12 million people getting heath care and not paying for it. You come with average annual heath care cost for each person and multiple. ITS A HUGE NUMBER!
Answer: You contradict yourself per item #1 above. What is that Average annual health care cost for each person?

Folks,
About 1 month ago, someone here directed me to a NeoCons web site where they listed all the detailed costs in billions associated with Undocumented aliens in America. I remember healthcare was one of them.

What the web site forgot to do was to calculate the Gross Total which equaled to half last year GNP in America. In other words, the numbers were made up to look BIG.
