ISN''T THERE ANOTHER WAY TO SAVE THE PLANET BESIDES KILLING OFF ALL OF THE ASTHMATICS? It would be interesting to know how many CFC''s are released during one spray. I have had asthsma since I was 3 yrs. old (now 39) & the only inhaler that worked for me is the one they have discontinued. I have used the new ones for the past 6 months and have suffered tremendously. I am outraged at the nonchalant attitude in the switch. I have to clean it more, it costs WAY more, and IT DOESN''T WORK! The reason a stronger burst of medicine is nice is BECAUSE WE CAN''T INHALE!!!!! Thanks pharmaceutical companies for the change - I''m sure you need the money.

i too have asthma, however, it''s controlled with other medications. the inhalers are "rescue inhalers" for use during an asthma attack. if asthma is not under control, yes, you need your inhaler more frequently. as my doc said, if you use a rescue inhaler more than twice a week, your asthma is not under control and more needs to be done to get it under control. my only complaint about the new inhalers is that it will cost me more per month since there are no generic versions...

Here''s hoping the patients don''t go green themselves from not being able to breath.

Yes, I agree. The pharmaceutical companies really need to do more studies. I''m allergic to one of the compounds that''s in ADVAIR inhalers. I had an allergic reaction and asthma attach because of it. I''m also allergic to generic drugs. So when will the pharmaceutical companies only provide generic drugs to us citizens to buy? Are the new inhalers really safe for those of us who need these inhalers on a daily bases and emergencies? Probably not. The new inhalers probably have the same compound that I''m allergic to that was in the ADVAIR inhaler. Great, I guess I need to get my Will ready. Thanks for considering those who need these medicines to be able to breathe and live a not so normal life already.

Um...if CFCs ruin the Ozone layer, which has been known or presumed for a long time, why would it be beneficial to go directly into someone''s lungs?

This problem should have been addressed long ago. Better late than never, I suppose.

Is this REALLY one the things that has the BIGGEST impact on the environment? If there are other things that have a bigger impact, maybe those things should be targeted FIRST, before asking asthma suffers to adjust to unfamiliar, less convenient inhalers.
