I don''t think we will know the causes of Autism for a while, not matter what side wins this case the other side will still beleive what they always have. The vaccines are well regulated. The toxins in our food and air are not. The toxic toys from other countries, the toxic medications shipped to us or the pollution could be causing it. We have seen years of animals in the wild suffering with strange diseases, did we think the pollution wouldn''t get us because we sleep in giant wood boxes? I think the causes are more mystrious and harder to see then vaccines.

Thimerisol is a mercury COMPOUND, theres more raw mercury in those nice compact fluorescent bulbs, wait till the day you inevitably break one of those bulbs by accident- releasing the mercury vapor into the room whose air you BREATHE!

"medical experts dont have a comprehensive understanding of what causes autism, but they do know there is a strong hereditary component."

And the fact that the girl in the article had a "rare" underlaying disorder that was supposedly "worsened" by the vaccine shows she had a problem to begin with- a genetic WEAKNESS, but see, the parents wont accept that maybe THEIR child has a DEFECT, from heaven forbid- BAD genes inherited from them. Funny how 300 million other people in this country are vaccinated and have NO such problems.

I suppose the anti vaccine crowd would rather their kid develop polio or any of the multitude of diseases vaccines stopped, but then I guess they''d find a way to file those deep pocket lawsuits for failure of the Govt to protect THEIR child from nasty diseases.

Science still has not proven one way or another in this case. The age that vaccines are given is the same age as when autism shows up, even with or without the vaccines. I feel these parents pain, because my son is slightly autistic, but I''m not going to sue the drug companies. Autism can be worked through. Has anyone every seen a baby with measels or mumps or rubella?? Google it if you haven''t, and see what happens when babies don''t get the vaccines. Usually those babies that do get it, die or have even worse mental problems than just autism. Truely, I believe that there are children that have a predisposition to autism and the little bit of mercury in triggers it and leads to autism. So basically, the child would probably have autism, weither they had the vaccine or not. I just think this is another frivolous lawsuit, that will waste more tax payer dollars.
Basically, it''s sad that children have autism and other mental desieses, but I think that we need to look into other reasons why there has been an out break of cases in the past 20 years. Has anyone thought about what our enviroment has done to contribute, the preservatives we pack into food, the polution in the air?? I''m sure that these factors have more of hand in the cause of our medical problems than we are giving them credit for.
