- Wife and I were seriously thinking of having this procedure done this summer. This, as they say, changes everything.

- Thats great for the 95% done right so what happens to the 5% not done right? solutions? repairs? I do not plan to become that 5%. I''ll wear glasses before I pay that much and risk ruining my eyesight. Remember the old saying? "It will never happen to me" When figures are 100% satisfied for couple years then I''ll think about it. I''m not a gambling man when it comes to my life.

- I have two eyes. I have no intention of risking either of them to any procedure in which "there are no guarantees of 20/20 vision and the long-term safety of the procedure is still unknown."

- "the informed consent form in front of you, but you just sign it and no one reads the fine print,"
And um... whose fault is THAT? You are undergoing a MEDICAL procedure on your freaking EYES, this is not paperwork to buy a motorcycle!
" So, 1 in 20 is dissatisfied. How much damage was caused? Was the harm permanent?

Keep in mind, those going for the procedure in the first place are getting it done BECAUSE their eyesight is bad. A bad job may make it worse, but since vision problems are usually progressive with age- their eyesight would have gotten worse with or without the procedure. - Reply to this comment
- Wow. 95% are satisfied. Impressive...not. So, 1 in 20 is dissatisfied. How much damage was caused? Was the harm permanent? It took years before the shortcomings of the old radial keratotomy began to manifest itself. Is this the tip of an iceberg?
