Group Recommends Testing All Toddlers Twice By Age 2 For Developmental Disorder
- Pregnant women are told not to eat fish because it may contain mercury and affect the developing child. As soon as they are born we are to inject them with mercury, because it preserves the vaccine. Maybe we should test kids before and then after their first vaccines.

- I recently read about a exciting development in treating Autistic & learning disabled children, they even threw in ADHD too, but what I saw was a child, clearly exhibiting Autistic behaviors become calmer, more communicative and social. With a very simple "treatment" involving strobe lighting, a table that moves and headset playing some sounds. A 6 month "therapy" regime and the results are INCREDIBLE. I will try and see where I got this info, I thought here on CBS .. by a known reporter. Wish CBS had cross referenced it!! For shame!

- Before attacking vaccines, don''t forget things like polio and small pox that devastated millions, now all but a memory in the USA because of vaccines.
Don''t forget to include rabies vacccines as well.
Taking ANNUAL flu vcaccines is insane however - Reply to this comment
- People have gotten wise to the fact that vaccines are contaminated with DNA fragments, viruses, fungus, mercury, and a cocktail of other poisonous toxins. Fleets of reputable studies have been published globally detailing the wide swaths of destruction caused by vaccines, including autism. So, now the establishment is on the offensive, attempting to bully us into submission. Big Pharma is one of the biggest businesses in the world. It is among the top three purchasers of advertisement in print, TV and radio. Thay have major pull. President Bush recently vetoed a Bill which would have forced Big Pharma to remove mercury from vaccines. If that''s not bad enough, parts of the so-called Patriot Act contains provisions that essentialy remove the spectre of civil liability against Big Pharma with respect to vaccines. This was done in the name of protecting Big Pharma in case they had to quickly develop a vaccine to combat some unforseen form of biological terrorism. No other candidate for President understands health issues as well as Dr. Ron Paul does. He not only supported the Bill which would have removed mercury from our vaccines, he voted against the Patriot Act as well. Dr. Paul., an OB/GYN physician, who has delivered over 4,000 babies, has been the national leader in preserving our Health Freedom. He feels that Americans are justifiably concerned over the government''s escalating intervention into our freedom to choose what we eat and how they take care of our health. Go Dr. Paul.

- Hearing this story frustrated me. What in the world is happening to our children and why? Pediatricians also used to back cough and cold medicines for our children under two - that''s recently been retracted. I simply cannot trust the medical profession to guide me in everyday maintenance of my and my children''s healthy bodies. I didn''t trust vaccinations they weren''t administered. This news story is a very small door to a very, very large room of problems. Whatever happened to organic, whole foods, life without television, and community service being the center of our mainstream existence? It has gotten so those simple attributes are no longer considered vital to health and well-being for the masses it seems to me.

- I don''t think that any of the vaccines have mercury in them anymore, only the flu shot. The problem, from what my pediatrician has told me, is not the mercury derivative that is in the injection, but that the shots are given to children too early, they can shed the mercury better at a little later age. I thought I was being smart by having my baby have the injections halved, because I worked with profoundly retarded children-some of whom were that way because their pediatrician didn''t know that the child was allergic to eggs thereby causing major brain damage. However, it didn''t help - my son is autistic and Birth to Three and myself had to fight the establishment to be tested. They were afraid of "labeling". He''s now 15 and every day is such a struggle for him.

- This is ridiculous. Babies that don''t babble by 9 months?
I had a pediatrician who suggested something was wrong with my son because he didn''t have 20 words in his active vocabulary by 18 months old. He wasn''t a daycare kid and he was home with me, and until that point he didn''t really HAVE to learn many words because if he knew "Mommy" and how to point, he could get most anything he wanted. I worked a bit more at teaching him and he was fine, he was a ''late bloomer'' with language and his vocabulary acquisition improved exponentially around 2 years old.
Seems to me they''re as quick as they are to diagnose because it directly benefits their own personal pockets to do so. More doctors appointments and more prescriptions to renew = more money for THEM. What does this to do to the children who are NOT autistic in the meantime?
It''s a load of *** if you ask me. Personally I do believe some children are autistic and I think it''s good to catch it early if possible BUT ... for crying out loud, not every child has it and not every child deserves to be put through this harassment ... YES, HARASSMENT ... from diagnosticians and practicioners who need a way to pay for their malpractice insurance. - Reply to this comment

- Every study done, including about the Amish - shows that unvaccinated kids get autism just as much as vaccinated kids - the vaccines, mercury or not, do not cause autism. And when you don''t vaccinate your kid, they are at risk from real, honest to goodness killers that used to kill hundreds of thousands of children. But worse, your child will help to spread those deadly diseases to other children.
You don''t want to vaccinate? Go talk to a Polio survivor before you make that choice. Look at their twisted body, and realize that they were one of the lucky ones - they''re alive. - Reply to this comment
- Okay, first of all...No one really knows the exact cause of autism, but if it turns our to be sleep apnea, I''ll eat my own head. I''m just saying.
Next--Jenny McC claimed that her son has recovered. Not cured. It''s an important distinction. Can we cure diabetes? No, but we can treat it. If treated early, often, and correctly, sometimes the symptoms can all but disappear.
Next--Noooo, the anti-vac crowd has not moved on. They still pretty much blame mercury combined with a genetic issue that stops the body from shedding excess mercury and instead stored it.
And lastly, no one is saying don''t get your kids vaccinated. Just insist that the preservative Thimerosal isn''t part of the equation.
No, you can''t "easily order" Thimerosal free shots. My doctor flat out told me ''no, that''s the only way they come.'' Did you know it''s still being used in flu shots?
And if vaccinations have nothing to do with it, explain how the incidences of autism in the general population is 1 in 166 births. In the Amish population, its one in 10,000. - Reply to this comment
